Who's using a fork mount to transport their mountain bike inside of their WL?

While I have a hitch mounted rack, there are situations where I want to carry my MTB inside and have been considering a DIY solution using a fork mount on a 1x6 and was curious if anyone else here had done something similar?
I didn't find anything when attempting various searches. (Google, yes. This forum, no)

...in doing a test fit, even with a dropper post, I'm shy of having the height to fit the handle bars under the interior roofline.
That pretty much explains why I didn't find any posts here regarding this.
Perhaps a smaller frame mtb (I ride a large) it would fit.

I can lay it down and make it fit, but was looking for cargo space as well.

Oh well, guess I'll just use the hitch rack.
