Waze Issues

Love my Summit Reserve L. Carplay has been pretty buggy. Waze doesn't work well at all. It hijacks my sound system and doesn't like to give control back to the radio or Spotify and now it won't locate me and show my location on the map. Anyone else having Waze issues? Also my large touchscreen blacks out for one second every once in a while.

My screen also blacks out occasionally.
When Waze doesn't track my location, it's usually because I haven't started Waze manually on my phone. When you start it on CarPlay (or CarPlay starting with the vehicle starts Waze), it's usually okay, but sometimes it doesn't fully start it. If I unlock my device and click the Waze icon on my phone, then I get the Waze splash screen and GPS starts to work properly.
There is no rules with this stuff, but it's what helps for me.
