Suspension, smooth ride, air/ride adjust systems/ give me your advice or remarks

I have ridden in the RAM 1500 Limited which had a smooth ride and an adjustable ride height. The RAM 1500 Laramie Longhorn also had a smooth highway ride.
So, within the Jeep division can anyone comment on ride feel in their Grand Cherokee? Anyone care to comment on comparisons with Dodge Durango?
Jeep has been known as a harsh ride ... ideas?
Thanks

I havent heard the harsh ride thing for a jeep in a decade. That was an old old thing from the 90's and probably newer sport model Wranglers.

The new L model GC has been completely redesigned and suspension comfort was one of the major design and feel components they focused on. The L model has been compared to luxury SUV models and even the spring suspension in the L is on par with Range Rovers and Mercedes in comfort - the air suspension option is equal if not slightly nicer than that.

The things that are going to be different are the active engine mounts and the active dampening in the air suspension. These two items are brand new to Jeep and make a big difference. The new air suspension system is still like the old one as it's closed loop and moves the car up and down but it also has active dampening built in so as you drive down the road the dampening changes depends on the speed/terrain/load of the vehicle.

our 2021 overland L drives like a land yacht down the road, it's an excellent highway cruzer.

Just adding my 2 cents here - I have a 2020 Ram 1500 Limited with air suspension and I think it rides better than and handles better, although somewhat stiffer, than the 2015 1500 Ram Bighorn I had. My 2021 GC L Overland with air suspension (factory installed so nothing is disabled/deleted) rides smoother/better than my Ram Limited, and I love my Ram.

I’ve owned a 2012 GC with conventional suspension, a 2019 GC and 2021 GCL with Quadra lift. Hands down the QL is superior, the 21 with active suspension much better than 19. The 2012 would have much more unsettled rear end behavior when turning, lifting inside rear tires due to body roll. There was always tire slippage/rear end stepping out with anything other than dry roared. The QL helps a lot with cornering stability and straight line bumps/unsettling causing counter steering/vehicle vectoring off path. Highway driving is superior all around with QL. All GC’s were 5.7L, not sure if sway bars differed between years.

My 19’ QL system experienced frequent malfunctions during cold winter months. It seemed to run the compressor more and then release pressure trying to fix itself. I attributed the issue to moisture in the lines/system freezing. This was probably due to warm storage and cold driving and condensation. The system is supposed to use nitrogen which is dry, but every winter would malfunction. Maybe a defect I had.

You had leak. If the compressor runs more or makes a pshhhh sound is trying to build pressure in the system.
