Drag reducing underbody part and snow season

I noticed my Summit has a large underbody piece that’s intended to reduce aerodynamic drag. I am curious about whether that increases chances of underbody rust during snow season because an underbody wash won’t be able to reach in there and flush out salt. Anyone have thoughts on whether it’s worth removing that piece?

I had a Fluid Film coating done a few weeks ago, and the kid told me he got under that shielding as much as possible. I assume people that end up putting skids on have the same concern, but I think a thorough rinsing will get the salt (or sand in my case) off.
