The outer ones were held in on by plastic and easily pried off (that’s the piece that came off on its own). The inner ones were more secure with metal pins/rivets. I couldn’t pry them off. There may have been an easy way, but I cut the pins with a sawsall. Good riddance and now I don’t have to...
One of those stupid air dams was finally ripped off on a snow bank. So I had to cut the other one off. Glad it happened. Now I’ll try a rougher road in the spring. Last year I stopped driving a road because those stupid air dams were scraping.
I’m sorry. I usually never complain. I love my new Jeep but I’ve decided that my next car needs to have a rear bumper big enough to put a beer can on it. Seriously! Other than that, I have no other complaints.
I was in another situation with all 4 wheels on glare ice. I stomped on the throttle just for fun and the Jeep felt like it had a seizure. It was a quivering/clicking mess and didn’t go anywhere. The traction control did not know what to do. I backed off and used gentle, steady throttle...
Not the case here (watched your video/heard the traction control clicking). It’s important to remember how the traction control/brake lock differential works. We are (when stuck in snow) used to letting off the throttle when we feel slipping. However, in these Jeeps, steady throttle allows the...
I have no idea what is going on with your Jeep, but I bet it’s the tires (even if they seemed to work last year). Last year’s first snowstorm had me sliding everywhere on the Ecopia tires. The next day, I put Blizzaks on and no more slipping. Snow tires plus snow mode and it’s hard to make the...
I was off roading today and it showed no oil pressure reading on the off road page. It showed normal oil pressure on the dash monitor (between the Speedo and Tach).
We’ve been using Blizzaks since we moved into the mountains. They’re great but only last 2-3 winters. Sometimes I will “burn them off” in the summer if it doesn’t look like I’ll get another season out of them. They practically melt away.
I have to agree with winter tires. I just put mine on and am waiting for the snow to fly. Winter tires make these jeeps feel so secure on snow and ice. I can’t imagine that all terrains would do as well. Add snow mode and the Jeep feels downright boring. It’s hard to make it slide or drift...
Was my dog inside? My little dog accidentally stepped on the lock button and locked me out. Now, when I take the dog on errands, I make sure I don’t leave the keys inside.
Regarding selec terrain, I flipped to mud/sand mode at the gravel culdesac at the end of my dead end country road. With the wheel cranked, the drive train was binding and lurching like it was “locked”. Of course, the QT1 transfer case is an open diff as are both axles. Nothing is locked. I...
I am sure all terrain tires would make a difference. I just have the stock Bridgestone’s for summer driving. I would like all terrain mainly for a tougher look. However, I bought Blizzak snow tires which are superior in the winter. Can’t justify another set of tires when the OEM ones are still...
