I need your advice. I am seeking an “L” version and have been looking at the Overland. Today I learned that the air suspension is no longer available. It is only on the Summit Reserve. like the ability to change clearance as we do a lot of backcountry MT roads. Not having it is a disappointment. I am also debating about the Off Road option.. like the skid plates but not sure about the smaller tires.
I am not a fan of the Reserve’s leather stitching and limited color choice so really am disappointed about the air suspension change.
What is the leveling system on the Grand Cherokee? We have a Kia Telluride as well.. that has a “ratchet system” that I don’t like. You have to drive a block or two for it to level out with the trailer attached. My old Highlander had an auto level system which I loved.
My use: towing a 3000 lb trailer across multiple states on the interstate as well as driving (without trailer) in the mountains and on two track backcountry roads. We have many occasions of driving on snow covered, very muddy or ice covered dirt backroads. I need to be able to engage 4 wheel drive on my own. I am trying to understand the tire size vis a vie traction vs gas mileage.
Thanks for your help!
