Vent : What do you Love or Hate about your Current GC?

1. I hate how the sheet metal on the hood is too flexible. It almost gives me heart attack at carwash when dryer air hits it. It bends up and down.

2. Hate piano black center console trim pieces that scratch easily.

You're going to the wrong car wash.

Its every carwash I have been to. I have limited and overland L. Same issue with both. Try pushing on in the middle of the hood.. I have VW, hood solid as a rock.

I wash my own Jeep GC Overland and Chrysler 300c. Not a problem with the hood! I love the look of the current Jeep GC, not a big fan of the new Grille, Front Clip and Floating Roofline of the 2022 model. That said, the L.A. Auto show is this weekend in Los Angeles, hopefully it will be there, things look very different in person. However, Motor Trend, when testing for SUV of the Year 2022, didn't like the Front Clip, and the cheap sound the doors made when closing?

I hate that the Altitude package didn’t come with similar equipment as the GC did or the fact that you can’t get upgraded audio. The gloss black on the interior is crap, probably going to have it wrapped eventually.

I completely agree on both issues you are having.

1 - The sheet metal on the hood is not only flimsy in the car wash with the blowers on, but I can see it bending like a tin can when I'm on the highway with any sort of crosswind. This is my first-ever Jeep after a lifetime of GMC trucks/SUVs, so I'm not sure if this is common or a new thing? (have you opened the hood and tried to close it with your hand a bit off-center? You'll feel like the hulk bending the corner of a sheet of paper.)
2 - I would like to meet the person who said, "Hey. You know what would be GREAT for the center console? Glossy plastic. And let's go ahead and double-down with this idea and make it glossy!" I dusted mine with a brand new/washed microfiber cloth (as it's CONSTANTLY dusty) and already scratched it. I would love to find someone who can wrap that plastic in vinyl, but can see it would be quite the project. I almost want to sand all of the plastic with a high-grit paper to remover the sheen so I don't get driven crazy by it every time I drive.

I love this Jeep. A big reason is that I feel younger in it. I had two Jeep’s when I was young. My first car was a Jeepster and my third was a Cherokee. Having a Jeep reminds me of when I was younger. I love driving it and it makes me want to explore. I can’t wait till spring to do some off roading.

There are a lot of complaints on this board. I have no complaints. Most of the luxury features on the car are for my wife and kids. I couldn’t care less if they work or not. I don’t use half of the features anyway. I just like driving a Jeep. I like the peppy V6. I like the firm, bouncy suspension. I like feeling like I can go anywhere in it. I am glad to be driving a Jeep again.

Aside from the dozens of electrical problems that prevent me from using anything connected to Uconnect most days (no nav, XM, CarPlay, FM, access to menus, memory settings don't work), and the other defects (HVAC, water in headlights, trunk opener doesn't work, etc etc)...

I HATE the three LOUD HORN HONKS every time you close the driver's door when you get out with the engine running.

I HATE that I cannot completely disable the stability control for winter shenanigans ("Dad blew $80k on a fun sponge lemon").

I HATE that I spent this much money and have not gotten to enjoy a single proud day with a happy family who loves the first new car I've bought since my lemon-lawed 1999 Grand Cherokee.

I HATE that Jeep corporate couldn't seem to care less about any of this, having not attempted a single repair (no parts available) as I head into my second miserable month of ownership, because they're using all the parts they have on hand to deliver more cars to new owners, leaving poor schmucks like me out in the cold.

I HATE that I'm doing all I can to diagnose and assist in the repairs, wasting hours of time communicating with "Jeep [doesn't] Care" for nothing.

Most of all, I HATE that there are no other alternatives to this car in my area (or anywhere, really) that deliver the same blend of off road capability, 'just right' size, and on-road performance, so even if they do the right thing and buy this car back, I'm just going to end up ordering another one, hoping they have solved the problems next time.

All this time I thought that @JeepCares

I hate that my right front fender is bent such that the panel lines don't match the front passenger door.
2. Hate piano black center console trim pieces that scratch easily.
You can buy/apply paint protection film for those parts, as I've seen others doing... FWIW.
