Great news for those of you that have not yet purchased, whether that be off the lot or by doing a special order. I have some good news: Tread Lightly is back and eligible for MY '22 GC and GCL (WL 74 and 75).

Buy your Tread Lightly membership at LEAST 30 days in advance of your purchase. You cannot get your control number for 30 days, and you need to provide the control number to the dealership when you purchase to get the discount. You must buy the $100 Individual membership (screenshot below).

Tread Lightly is an Affiliate Rewards program that gets you 1% below invoice. So if you're up North and the dealerships are screwing you with BS market adjusted pricing... go buy the $100 Membership then go stick it to the dealership by presenting your control number. They have to honor it.

If you are doing a special order and checked out my other thread on deep invoice discounts, this 1% Tread Lightly discount is stacked on to the others. So if you are going to a dealer (i.e. Gupton in TN) and they are doing 5% now you are going to get 6%.

This offer is back for multiple vehicles, I've put up the paper below in case you have interest in other Stellantis vehicles. Spoiler alert, no wranglers or diesel gladiators yet!

I was looking at the FCA Affiliates Rewards website just a minute ago. It states that dealers DO NOT have to participate in this program....Also, The vehicles eligible from last year has been reduced greatly. Do your homework first...But it could be a great savings...

Yeah I should have probably changed that. They aren't required too but I have yet to see a dealer that won't honor it.

I'm assuming this won't be valid for an ordered already placed, that is being built, but has not made it to the dealership yet for delivery?

That's a great question... for me I was able to tack it onto the price. Mine was ordered on 11/24, and it's in D1 and starting build any hour now hopefully lol. So I am going from 6% below invoice to 7% below invoice. But my dealership is one of the ones I noted that generally does 7% (pre-auto/chip shortage issues) so for them, they had no problem tossing the 1% back on to the price since it's par for the course for them. I would think you would be able to as generally speaking this 1% is stackable on top of anything. I would just reach out to your dealer and ask. Report back what they say too, and good luck!

I doubt they will accept it up north. I had a heck of a time finding dealers that would accept the employee pricing discount. So if they won’t accept a discount plan from Stellantis headquarters I’d think odds are not good that they honor an affiliate program. But don’t give up. Keep looking. I saved a boatload of money by not caving. The kind of money it is well worth taking a drive to find someone willing to play ball.

It’s gotta be the fact that it’s an suv with 4x4. I can’t imagine why north would be so different than pricing down here in FL. I entertained a few dealers up by family in Indianapolis. None were interested in taking my 4x2 2018 Ford Explorer but down here they are paying top dollar. Down here you can’t find GCLs with 4x4, up north you can’t find a 4x2 (obvious snow reasons). I just figure a good 4x4 suv is in higher deman up there maybe?

And yes, the 1 way ticket and quick same day turn around road trip and we’ll worth the thousands in savings (least in my mind).

@TampaHoosier Where did you get this information from? I just called AffiliateRewards to verify this and they indicated that the 2021 and 2022 model years for WL 75 is not available.

That’s because they are a bunch of idiots! This is tread lightly, I honestly can’t tell you if it’s actually an affiliate rewards program or just in the same bucket. Look at the sheet, it’s a printout directly from my dealer.

From what I understand, the control code used to get the discount is obtained from https://www.fcausaffiliates.com

If you get a chance, it would interesting to find out if if your dealer knows if that process has changed for MY22 for Tread Lightly, or if it is regional in some way.

That’s correct, you go there and print out control number. Nothing has changed. My dealer (Lakeland CJDR) is one of the ones pumping out copious amounts of special orders monthly and participates in steep discounts, 7% below with tread lightly, or 6% without it. They could be more in tuned with what is active and not. I also confirmed the same with Gupton in TN. I would not be surprised is some rep on the phone didn’t get the memo. It’s active and my dealership has the sheet saying what is currently allowed to have it. Wranglers are still specifically not active on it. All you need to do is print the control number in and bring it in. I would just call your dealer and tell them it looks like it’s now active again and ask them to confirm on their end.

I can adjust the color separately for the upper vs lower lights on my Overland (i.e red upper, blue lower, etc). Do they not all do that?

If you go right to the affiliates website and search vehicle for the program. They cut out alot of models. The WL74 and WL75 are not listed, all SRT vehicles are not listed....

Here is the Jeep page from the site...No Grand Cherokee or GCL listed under Jeep. Every other model shown on your printout islisted...except for the GC and GCL
I don’t know what to tell you man, the frontend customer website sure as hell is NOT the gospel. You should know that. Not sure why you’re arguing with me on this. My dealer has the print out FROM JEEP announcing it, I provided it in the initial link for all to see. I already confirmed with two large special order dealerships (mine - Lakeland CJDR and Gupton in TN) and they say yes they see in the memo in their internal systems, its now active. The jeep websites are notorious for being slow at updating. Hell, according to Jeep I’m still able to build a fully loaded GCL Overland with tech packages and bench seat…. Even though it’s never actually been allowed, nor will it be.

Ours wouldnt honor our corporate affiliate program either
Coporate affliate won’t work. If you go to one of these special order dealerships I noted with the Coporate affiliate control number and try to use it for the additional 1% off to get you to 7%, they will say no it won’t work. You must use the Tread Lightly. Tread Lightly has it’s own special relationship with Jeep.

I apologize if it seemed like I was trying to argue with you. There is just alot of conflicting information out there, so it is just hard to know what is good and what isnt...And I have learned to not always believe what some dealers tell you...Nothing at all against you personally....

Roger that, and thanks for the acknowledgment/clarification! I think we are all good here.

You are right in that a dealerships word most often means squat and none of us should ever take that as final word. In this case that’s why I had them send me the printout of the announcement. It’s also why I doubled checked it with another reputable dealership. The backend systems are much more reliable than anything on the customer facing side via internet (jeep.com and/or affiliate rewards). Hell the fact that the affiliate rewards website is still labeled as FCAaffliatedewards should be your first indicator that STELLANTIS isn’t exactly doing a great job on keeping those websites updated lol.

For what it’s worth, I have never heard of someone on the JL or Gladiator forums get denied by a dealer for tread lightly. I personally have had mixed luck with dealerships when I shopped around my corporate affiliate code though.

There is conflicting info out there, but that’s why I wanted to post this stuff up. There’s too much “he said she said” and “I heard” instead of cold hard facts. A dealership may flat out lie and say it’s not active just because they want to make more money off you (shocker!). Well, now you have the picture of the sheet to call their bluff on it. Of course they can lie more and say some other bs but at least you see their true colors and can then walk away.

Unfortunately the part you said about the dealerships word doesn’t mean squat IS gospel. Find yourself a good dealer. It’s pretty important. If something goes wrong with your Jeep they are the first line to help you get it right. If they are a bad dealer and don’t support their customers after the purchase well you better strap in cuz it’s gonna be a bumpy ride. The good thing is if you made a bad choice you can always go to another dealer for service. I had to do that with my Dodge Durango. The dealer I purchased at was very incompetent. I bought there because of price. When I found them to be a train wreck at every aspect I went elsewhere for service. The second place treated me great and me not purchasing the truck from them had no affect on how they treated me. So just do your homework. Be loyal to the good ones.

If you don't mind sharing it, can you message me the contact / salesperson you worked with at Gupton? I'm in the Chicagoland area and while there are many dealerships in a 50 mile radius of where I live, if no one wants to play ball so to speak, I have no problem grabbing a one-way ticket for under $100 to swing down there and grab the GC I want at around 7% below invoice if no one wants to make life easier around here. Have a niece in Nashville so could bring the wife and spend a night.... maybe check out Nashville for a couple days since we've never been.

Got my Tread Lightly membership earlier this month and pulled down a control number earlier today so that's taken care of.
