Transmission Issue or Something Else

I have been VERY fortunate with my 2021 L in that the cup holders are fine, UConnect works mostly good (not concerned about Android Auto not working) and I have a trailer hitch.

However, I have noticed that when cruising in 7th gear at approximately 37-39 mph a vibration develops in the steering wheel and the accelerator pedal. No sound is heard, just a vibration [think "vibrator"] is felt. Yesterday I felt it in 6th and 8th gear also. If I manually downshift to 6th gear it immediately goes away. My dealership service manager has acknowledged that he test drove and felt it. He is chalking this up to the engine lugging until it shifts, despite the RPM's being above 1800. Now having 44 years of automotive experience I can safely say that it is not normal to design an engine to "lug" considering the extensive damage that can be caused. I no doubt, will be taking it back, but am wondering if anyone else has had this concern. I have been following the forum sine September and cannot recall seeing anything. TIA for your thoughts.

I am having a similar vibration in the drive train, when i am in the low end of the rpm with a very slight press on the accelerator, it shudders.... i have it on many gears 2,3,4,5,6. I only have 150 miles, so i am going to give a some time but i dont think this is fix itself. I did see another thread on this.

Which motor? I have had low rpm shudder/vibration due to 5.7L MDS kicking in. A simple manual downshift brings it out of MDS and kicks the other 4 cylinders in. With MDS engaged + light throttle there is a constant vibration. When tipping in more throttle in this situation, vibration intensifies more with more throttle and will only stop if either MDS disengages or I manually shift to pull it out of MDS

To determine is it is a trans or engine vibration, drive everywhere in manual shift mode, the. Do the same thing in “D” and see if you only notice it one mode or the other.

Early 5 speed trans on 5.7 back in 2012 had a true trans shudder/surge due to tuning. Low octane/poor fuel quality can cause engine surging possibly if engine tuning is borderline.

I have owned 3 GC’s with a 5.7 and all have done it. I’ve been complaining since 2012. Good luck.

having a similar issue, but seems more noticeable at higher speeds (55 MPH or up). Was told by service rep that they couldn't duplicate. Doesn't happen all the time, but happens mostly when i first take the car out in the morning and goes away the more you drive.

that sounds exactly right. I will play with manual shift - happens at 1400 - 1500 RPM . Yes i have the 5.7 HEMI. BTW, truck is a beast with the 5.7.

This is with the 3.6 engine. I can stop the vibration with a manual downshift. I'll bring it up to the service advisor again. It may be time for a star case.
