Sound quality

We have a GCL Altitude, the speakers are better than average, but not outstanding. However, there are only 6 (2 dash, front and rear doors), the third row does not get speakers. Funny, the basic stock system in my son's 2012 200 actually has better lows than the GCL. But for just cruising along, the Altitude system is fine for us. Hope this helps.

My 22 Limited order has the Alpine system with 10 speakers….assuming 2 in dash, 4 in doors, 2 in the third row, 2 on the front pillars?

I’m coming from a ‘14 wrangler sport, so I hope it’s on par or better than what I have now. Thanks for the reply

I have a 2015 JKU Sport, and the base system in that was worse than a 1982 Ford Escort, ha! I replaced all the speakers and added a Kicker Hideaway sub in the back. The GCL Altitude is better than the stock Wrangler.

I don't know about the base Alpine system (I've found it harsh and boomy in other FCA vehicles), but the McIntosh system is a steal if you care about real high fidelity. I've heard better custom systems in the five figure range, and the bass is a bit boomy at mid volume levels on some types of music (just turn down the bass on the EQ), but this sounds better than systems in other high end luxury cars that charge $5k+ (B&O, etc etc). It's absolutely worth every penny if you care about sound quality. I'm not sure if that's available in the Altitude trim level, though.
