Roof Rack Rails

Any thoughts on if the sunroof still works when you have a carbo box attached with the clamp style attachments? I guess maybe i need to go open the sun roof and see how high it sits when it's open. Looks like there is 3.5" of clearance
I can 100% confirm that a yakima cargo box with the clamp style does not allow for the sunroof to open up when using the rhino rack RCL(low profile) mounts. The RCH mounts are 15mm taller, those will most likely allow for a cargo box and sunroof functionality. I'm going to see if I can exchange for those. Hmm. Any idea how much you'd have to trim from the Yakima clamps to make them fit? I wouldn't want to take much off, but a couple mm might be safe.

Yeah there needs to be about 1/4" shaved down off the clamps. One thing to note is the bars and the glass have a little curve to it so the middle is higher than the edges. I tried to get the cargo box perfectly in the middle in hopes of getting enough clearance for the clamps but I could never get it just right. If you put the box in the middle perfectly and shaved off 1/4" I'm pretty sure it would fit. If you don't have the box in the middle you are going to need more clearance since the clamp would be closer to the middle which has less clearance.

I'm still undecided if I'm going to just live with it and remember to not open the sunroof while the box is there or if i'll reach out to Rhino Rack and get the RCH towers which are 15mm taller and I'm sure that would clear.

I originally ordered and installed these.
However they had bad wind noise. Sent them back and purchased these. No wind noise.
However from this vendor they are unavailable right now.
Those are good if you don't mind some knock off products and don't care about looks or quality.

Here are some more pictures. PXL_20230103_162243494.jpgPXL_20230103_162247309.jpgPXL_20230103_162257815.jpg

I'm also going to add that these Rhino Racks have a pretty good whistle sounds starting at 25mph. With the shade closed it's still very audible and now I'm leaning towards just returning them. It's more than a wind noise issue it's like a high pitched whistle. I'll give it a couple days though.

Just a couple of pics of the OEM crossbars which I find to be very quiet on the highway.

Just put some airplane wings on your Jeep. Yakima are tall and wide but work just fine.

I had the Yakima bars on my '21 and I didn't like how high they sat. I have the low rise Rhino Bar set in my garage, never installed as mine was getting bought back and I only use them for the roof box in the winter. Given what's been said of the wind noise, I may just try these cheap ones for $107 from Amazon as they appear to be pretty low and probably won't have the wind noise issues since the bars don't protrude out.
