They are great, well known to the JL/JLU and JT crowd. Best deal you can get. They are just slammed with business and sometimes hard to get a status update from. Don’t be deterred, just nature of the game. My sister (south of Indianapolis) will be picking up her JLU from them this week. My next door neighbor (we are in Tampa, FL) opted to order his Wrangler Rubicon 4xe from them bc he will already be in Nashville around the estimated delivery window.Yes it is Gupton Motors. Any experience?
Thank you for the information. You are correct with your numbers. I will have to check into the tread lightly program and see where that gets me. Nothing has been ordered just yet. It's hard to believe from what I have seen of the dealership. If google maps is correct, it looks kind of small. I will finance through them and according to their numbers it would 6%. Either way, it's the best price I have seen so far. They are great, well known to the JL/JLU and JT crowd. Best deal you can get. So your 10% off is off MSRP. So it is actually 5% off invoice. Tread Lightly program is back so you might want to ask if they are honoring the Tread Lightly program again, if so that will bump you to 6% off invoice.
Yes they are indeed small. What a lot of people don’t realize is dealerships can make just as much money doing special orders as selling off the lot because you end up with volume discounts. They push hundreds of wranglers and gladiators out the door monthly. They special order so many they lock in steeper discounts.Thank you for the information. You are correct with your numbers. I am working with Walter Lee. He seems like nice enough guy. Was kind of concerned when he said he hadn't heard of the air suspension delete credit on the GCL. I guess they are mainly working with the Wranglers. It's a sticking point with me that I get that suspension.
I can see that. They seem great so far. it's possible they were so busy with Wranglers that they didn't even come across it.. I'm glad the delete is gone. I think it was the JLUR forums where I fist saw their name and decided to check them out for the GCL.Yes they are indeed small. I posted a thread of dealerships like Gupton. There are a few across the nation that focus on special orders to get the steeper volume discounts. Gupton has great customer service and there are threads over on JLWrangler forum where the owner or Daniel have come to get the customer from the airport themself!
As for the GCL it’s entirely possible that during the 2021 time frame the Quadra Air delete was going on they weren’t selling many, or enough to notice. It’s also possible that particular guy just didn’t know. Good news is that delete is no longer there!
Agreed. Orders with a long delivery date, I would suggest a cash deal and if you need to come in with financing, do it at the end. The financing piece should have nothing to do with orders. I think it is crappy that the dealer requires their financing. Watch out for the Ziebart or whatever they are calling protective coating. Seen dealers add this $2900 add on and make it mandatory.“If you use theirs financing” Beware of that for many have extreme rates on their financing and as well know, They make money on the financing.
And they wont share the rate till your signing and now you are locked into the deal!
I get that they may have lookie loos that they would rather not deal with, but, for them to make the judgement absent any rational reason is discrimination. Not an issue. Take whatever financing incentives you can get and turn around and refinance with your local bank/credit union.
I bought my Limited for $2k under MSRP. It took 3 dealerships to find one who didn’t try to add a market adjustment or charges for nitrogen tires, useless etching etc. You need a signed offer sheet/bill of sale before even thinking about booking a flight.
The next to last dealer I went to which is my local dealer advertised my same truck for $3k under online, but when I drove there, there was $5,000 addendum that took it from MSRP to $57k. I begged them to sell me the truck at the advertised price, but they wouldn’t tell me the price until they saw how “qualified” of a buyer I am.
I left and bought my Jeep at the next dealership.
Order the vehicle now before a price increase happens! The Tread Lightly isn't actually used until you actually purchase the vehicle. Meaning, it's delivered and you sign the loan, so the 30 day waiting period isn't an issue. It's only an issue if the vehicle is already there and you have not purchased the Tread Lightly membership. What you're doing now is common. Order the vehicle then purchase Tread Lightly and by the time it arrives the 30 days have passed anyways.I can see that. So now, I have confirmed they honor the tread lightly but my question is, do I order now and avoid any price increases or do I spend 100.00 to join tread lightly and wait 30 days before I can order the vehicle. I am assuming the discount would be around 600.00 minus the 100.00 to join.. What to do, what to do. I have been going back and forth with them for a month now.. LOL
Yeah, I would like to order before a price increase. I spoke with Gupton and they said I had to have the membership 30 days before I ordered the vehicle. Do you know for a fact that I an still use it after the order? I guess 100.00 wouldn't hurt too much if they decline it. But at least I could avoid a price increase.Order the vehicle now before a price increase happens! The Tread Lightly isn't actually used until you actually purchase the vehicle. Just make sure you purchase the $100 package, not the cheaper one. The $100 is what's required.
I have no real insight into whether or not they will cancel again but if I was a better man I'd say they won't.... unless there is another pandemic kick off/shut down/followed by more weather/then fires. That's what it took to shut down the chip plants and screw up the chip supply enough to affect vehicle builds. They cancelled Tread Lightly and all other programs and cut dealer order allotments significantly last summer because of the severe supply constraints, it was a unique situation that has since passed. The primary chip manufacturers have been at 100% since late last year and turning and burning ever since. Supply is beginning to return now and the only place you won't know that is if you go to a dealer that wants to give you a market adjusted value while they still can.If anyone is wondering, I emailed the dealership and the salesperson gave me a great explanation about the Tread Lightly discount. Jeep cancelled the Tread Lightly discount for a time in 21 and now have restated it. Since I ordered the jeep before my 30 days, I would loose the discount if Jeep cancels it again. If I waited for the 30 days before ordering, even if Jeep cancels the discount I would still get it since it was locked in at time of order. IF jeep doesn't cancel it before I take delivery, I get the discount. Not wanting to wait and risk price increases, I went ahead and asked the dealer to order my vehicle for me.
Very well put and yes you are correct.. I worked in a chip factory or over 10 years and know that it takes a while for a chip to be made from start to finish. It's not just going to go away anytime soon...I have no real insight into whether or not they will cancel again but if I was a better man I'd say they won't.... unless there is another pandemic kick off/shut down/followed by more weather/then fires. You're good to go on the Tread Lightly, don't sweat what Gupton was telling you. They tried to tell my sister early last week that Tread Lightly wasn't back on the wrangler yet. I gave her the info to give to them and they suddenly came back with another whacked out response that we had to rebuttal. All in all, she got her 6% total below invoice without doing a loan through them (it's a lease). They are a great dealer but at the end of the day they are still trying to make a buck when they can as opposed to letting you save a buck lol.
Glad you got that order in!
Where in Tennessee - I am in the Knoxville area. If it is a dealer I know, I can tell you whether to deal or not with them. It's in Tennessee and I am in Texas. Just have to fly out to get it.. Best price I have found.
Nevermind - I saw where as I got down the page - Not my neck of the woods.Where in Tennessee - I am in the Knoxville area. If it is a dealer I know, I can tell you whether to deal or not with them.
Do a search for any used 21s. I got a 21 GC-L Limited 4x4 locally in Knoxville with the luxury/tech package. It had only 4000 miles on it. Someone bought it and put it into service in July 21, then traded it in on a new Grand Wagoneer with only 4 months usage. It stickered for close to 58K, I got it for 49k. I also expressed my concern with not being able to transfer the Jeep Wave "3 included oil changes and tire rotations" and asked them to include one of the 3 interval service plans that Mopar sells for $200 into the deal and they did. They also set it up with all of the initial trial services like Sirius, Guardian, etc that would have come with it new. I still have the remainder of the factory warranty, so essentially I got out pretty well. After it's all said and done, pretty much a no deal anyway, it's still a good price. I like to get what I am told I am getting and I do calculate everything so that I know what I am getting...... Like the dealer is trying to sell at the most they can get, I am trying to buy at the cheapest I can get... LOL
Saw on another thread about price increases. I am hoping since I did get a price, order in and a VIN, that I am protected. As much as I want this, I am not sure I would put $3-4K premium on it.I have no real insight into whether or not they will cancel again but if I was a better man I'd say they won't.... unless there is another pandemic kick off/shut down/followed by more weather/then fires.
