Quality control or stupidity?

So I picked up my altitude last week. I promptly called the dealer asking if it’s normal to have sunroof controls without a sunroof. I was told this is how they do it in case you want to retrofit a sunroof. Sounds fishy. What do I do?

Do nothing, having extra buttons doesn't seem to impact the car. Also, did you notice this before taking delivery? I assume you did a walk thru before signing?

Eh, I dunno if I can look at non functioning buttons for the life of the car. I did a walkthrough and did not notice it.

No sunroof, and no buttons here.

Which make sense. The dealership told me that’s how they come lol. Who can I contact about qc issues
I dont trust many salespeople/dealers. They were just trying to tell you something to ease your concern. Call them up and tell them you want the correct upper console installed. They might have not had the correct panel and just installed whatever was available...

I told them that and they called me back and told me to come in. Only problem is the dealer is an hour away. I’m going to drive in. They are going to tell me to come back when they get the part

Unfortunately right now, replacement parts are hard to find. I ordered the covered cup holder to replace the open style in my Limited over 2 months ago with now in stock date in sight.......I hope they can pull some strings and get yours faster...

That's dumb. Send them a wide photo of your 'no sunroof' car ceiling, a closeup of the panel with all the controls, and a photo from this thread showing the correct part and tell them to order it.

If they won't do it, call 877-426-5337 and open a case with customer care and make them send the dealer the part. There's no reason you should have to drive two hours for something this stupid.

68541931aa,68544150aa,68541930aa,68541932aa These parts are needed to replace the open style cup holder on lower trims, with the covered style on higher trims. Simple replacement.I just did have to re-use the old cup holder light ring....
