Jeep dealer just had mine apart for 6 hours and can’t fix it. Unbelievable how disappointed I am.

That is disappointing. Mine made a knock/creak sound. I would hear mine when stopping/accelerating and say turning into a driveway with a dip. Did not always do it on a straight road. I’ve put on 1k miles since my fix and it is gone. So are they going to try anything else?

Mine is exactly like this, I don't hear it over a normal bump but more when i brake slightly or accelerate a bit. They talked to Jeep and told me they opened a STAR case on it. So now I wait. Also after I got the recall done today had the power steering light come on and say unavailable, service required. UGH. I want to love this Jeep but all these issues have me really frustrated and mad to be honest. I gave up a perfect 2019 Trail Boss pickup for this!

Sometimes after an update a module or two may not reboot correctly. Sometimes a few vehicle restarts will fix it. I should have taken a video of my fix. I could see that brace flexing when I replicated it over extending the door at the hinges.

Thank you for sharing your situation after visiting the dealer.
Did they do the solution suggested by Axg1040?
They told me it wasn’t that, rather a body seam behind the tensioner area. But as of now it’s exactly the same after waiting for 6 hours. Now we wait for Jeep to advise them what to try next. Problem for me is they are 90 minutes away from me.

Ah OK. So they said there is a gap there so maybe it’s just not a big enough gap. Hhhmmmm.

I could also reproduce the noise by moving the pretensioner piston or taking a screwdriver and using leverage on the bracket where the rear bolt was. I guess it could have been a body seam but when I scoped the bolt was touching or really close to the brace. I guess it is possible by pushing the brace it opened up or moved the body seam eliminating the noise. I used little force and pex isn’t strong enough to cause any damage. I can’t see them spot welding then applying seam sealer. When I did research on a fix I found new Land Rovers having this issue. Interiors all torn out to reweld parts only for the noise to get worse or return.

This video was my inspiration

Found my B pillar noise. This is drivers side, rocker area underneath. The black cover is the beauty cover for hvac lines to rear. The white studs are supposed to have wide fender washers and nuts. All nuts are missing and cover rattles due to falling down and flopping around at speed/with wind. Mine fell down about 1” off the studs completely and it hid the studs. It didn’t look right and took a few tries to put it back up for the photo. Going to parts store later tonight. It is larger than a 10-24/10-32, is not a standard M5 coarse thread, it is very coarse. I suspect some sort of M5 or M6 very coarse thread for automotive. The sound you describe is identical to mine. Sounds like a loose piece of metal rattling around at random times.

my vehicle is 2021 summit reserve with a build date in June/July I think. Took possession around mid August.CFB6AAED-DA57-4BD8-8406-070CB9644E7F.jpeg

Hard to believe they missed those! Mine are all in place. Here is the part.

Well, sorry it didn’t help. Thank you for the nut part number. As a note I plan to poke around in the hvac pipes to see if anything is rattling also.

Sharing service progress.
Repair service was completed but it did not improve at all.
My GCL was brought in for service on the scheduled date, and I expected the repairs to be complete in a few days.
Fortunately, they provided me a loaner car.
It has been a week since the repair started, and during that time, the service advisor kept me informed of the progress.
They said the job was done today and the noise was no longer so I went to the dealer.
I headed home in a good mood, but the noise was still there. So I went back to the dealer.
I picked up the mechanic that repaired my car and reproduced the noise. The service advisor and mechanic were very embarrassed.
My car went back into the shop and I got another loaner car.

It's been a month since I bought my GCL, and I was going to install a car seat for my first baby, who will be born in a few weeks.
My friends also know that I have bought a new car and joke about where it is.

I hope this problem is resolved soon, but I am very tired.
If there is any news about my GCL in the future, I will share it.

That is a shame. Plenty of miles since my repair above and the noise is gone. Another member did the same thing and said noise is 80% gone. He was going to try it again to get it to 100%. It is not the bolt or weld nut. It is the outer to inner rocker brace right behind that area they worked on.

I printed out the solution you suggested and handed it to the service advisor.
I wish they would solve it without me having to buy a borescope.

They can access through the B pillar but the belt spool, HVAC pillar duct and other components have to come out. Then remove the sound deadening and they can access the back side of that bracket. I hope they get it fixed for you. It is a really annoying noise for sure!

Solved problem!
The technician said that he tried to find the cause by re-reading your solution that I printed out.
As you said, he found a sheetmetal part that was hidden deep inside the B-pillar. He also found that the metal part was too close to the car body, causing friction.
Today, I also conducted a test drive with the technician to confirm that the noise no longer occurs.

Thanks Axg1040

In a few weeks, my first baby will be born. Finally my car is ready as a baby-mobile. :)
