Orange lock under dash?

What’s the orange lock under the dash on the driver side for ?

Saw this a few weeks ago when looking fir the fuse box. Asked one of the guys at the dealership (not a mechanic) and he didnt know either. Hoping somebody does!

Seems like a easier spot then down in the console.

It’s to manually put the truck into neutral for towing it. When the battery is dead you won’t be able to shift into neutral because it’s all electronic. You need that knob to override it so the tow doesn’t damage your transmission
