I have seen that the published recommended fuel is Premium. I have spoken to owners of 4XE and they say that they are putting in Regular. I would be a bit concerned about warranty issues for the engine. Unless of course, the published info is incorrect. Also. at todays gas prices the Premium will definitely not offset the savings. I would rather have the 3.6.

RTFM? This is from the wranglers owners manual I assume it's the same engine as what's in the WL. Seems like Regular is fine but Premium would be a much better choice. I have been running premium in my car for 10y and I never even notice the price difference. You are buying a larger SUV that gets ~15-20mpg, gas mileage is not something you should consider when purchasing.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. I was not thinking about mileage. But more in line with possible engine damage ( such as pistons) with use of regular 87 octane verses Premium grade. I am considering getting a Wrangler, I already have a GCL with a 3.6 and liking it. I was just looking for information as in my original post about what is published that I saw. Again thanks
