My vehicle has 1600 miles on it. I'm going to live with it until 3,000 miles when I take it in for the first oil change. I will share these posts with the dealer. I too looked at the heat shield, and checked the connections myself -- everything was snug. I find the vibration is very inconsistent. For me, it typically happens when I first start the vehicle (when it's cold), put the break on and put it in reverse (while my foot is still on the brake pedal) -- the bass sound starts. Yet, open any door, it goes away. Something resonates the interior and starts that bass sound. Another note - the full size spare was loose (from the factory? ), before I learned this -- the car really resonated - 10 times of where it is now. Then I tightened the spare and thought I fixed it. Still had the bass sound, but it wasn't as bad. Everyone might check their spare tire assembly and confirm it's snug. It's not too hard to do. By the way, I see Jeep Cares is on this thread -- since I am new to this forum -- anyone know if they're officially affiliated with Jeep? Lastly, I am hoping this bass sound (if the dealer can't fix it) goes away with time. Hoping that once the vehicle breaks in the sound works itself out. I will continue to post as I earn more.
Well, on an earlier post, someone mentioned they thought it was the heat shield that protects the spare tire. I thought since the vibration feels that it's coming from the rear of the vehicle, it might just be the heat shield. I then removed it (along with the spare tire). Drove the car -- and still had the vibration/bass sound (I was depressed because I truly thought this was the originating problem). It was also mentioned by others in this forum, the vibration occurs around 1000 RPM. I can confirm I have the same problem. I dileberately drove the vehicle in a way to get the RPM's at ~1000 RPM. And I can also confirm 1000 RPM's is the magic number. Every single time, the engine hit 1000 RPM's (give or take 100 RPM's) - the bass sound or vibration occurred. By the way, the heat shield was very easy to remove - and likewise to put back on. I am hoping as the vehicle breaks in, the problem goes away. Otherwise, I will live with it until 3,000 miles ( I now have ~1700 miles on the vehicle) when I get the first oil change and will bring it to the attention of the dealer. Since I am new to this forum, I have to ask - is "Jeep Cares" officially affiliated with FCA? Thank you... JTaylor62
We have similar issues with our new GCL Overland. It intermittently will connect to Apple Car Play to which the response was that it was a software issue that was being experienced with a fix somewhere in the future. It is disappointing to pay that much for a car and not have all the options work. Often we have to go into the device manager and tell it to connect the phone through Bluetooth (not even talking about car play). It recently went in for a software update on the radio (infotainment center) so I was looking forward to having it finally work properly only to have it not connect at all to Apple Car Play now and more frustrating is that it is no longer communicating with the Jeep (UConnect) app. It won't remote start or locate the vehicle any longer through the app.New owner here - picked up car a few weeks ago. Overland trim with upgraded seats (massage!) and McIntosh stereo.
A few issues so far, wanting some feedback to see if others have similar problems...
1) The remote services features are not working - have the vehicle set up in the Jeep app. I know it must be connected somewhat because I accidentally set off the car alarm and the app notified me. However, remote location view, remote start and lock/unlock don't work. The blue assist support button also doesn't do anything.
2) Periodically when switching driver between memory 1 and 2 (or vice versa) the seat and mirror locations recall correctly, however the seat fully reclines. Anyone else seen this?
3) The side mirrors have an annoying whistle around 50 mph
4) There seems to be a deep bass sound when first starting up the vehicle? From the stereo or powertrain? not sure...
It is the active noise cancellation and the bass sound is coming from the speakers. There is a software update that will be coming out for it in the future. To Jrseidel -- I respect your opinion and those who can live with it. I can't. I am an optimistic person - or will remain confident the dealer can fix it.
Any idea when the update will be released? It is the active noise cancellation and the bass sound is coming from the speakers. There is a software update that will be coming out for it in the future.
Active noise canceling is only on the SR trim and the bass sound is not coming from my Overland speakers. It's an exhaust system issue I believe. It is the active noise cancellation and the bass sound is coming from the speakers. There is a software update that will be coming out for it in
I’ve read an article that states it’s even in a Limited.Active noise canceling is only on the SR trim and the bass sound is not coming from my Overland speakers. It's an exhaust system issue I believe.
Every SR window sticker I have seen list active noise control system. My Overland has all available option packages and the window sticker does not list the active noise control system.I’ve read an article that states it’s even in a Limited.
I'm thinking it isn't coming from the bass. I find it odd that at 1000 RPMs (give or take a few RPMs in either direction) - the bass sound occurs -- every single time. I will take it in to the dealer when I can spare the vehicle for a few days (loaners are not always available). What's nice about this problem? I can make it repeat itself. Hopefully it can be fixed. Has anyone in Jeep Forum land taken their vehicle to the dealer? I need the vehicle until the week of November 8th. My intent is to give it to them and if they need to keep it for an extended period -- they can have it.It is the active noise cancellation and the bass sound is coming from the speakers. Regarding the active noise cancelation option -- others in this forum are correct. It isn't an option on the Overland. I looked at various window stickers - it's an option only for the Summit.I'm thinking it isn't coming from the bass. But... I do sincerely hope you are correct - it's coming from the vehicle's bass speaker - and a simple software fix makes it go away.
I have active noise cancelling on my build sheet for my overland also. The Overland does have the microphones in the headliner, and the module shows up in the equipment list -
