New Overland Owner - few early hour issues

New owner here - picked up car a few weeks ago. Overland trim with upgraded seats (massage!) and McIntosh stereo.

A few issues so far, wanting some feedback to see if others have similar problems...
1) The remote services features are not working - have the vehicle set up in the Jeep app. I know it must be connected somewhat because I accidentally set off the car alarm and the app notified me. However, remote location view, remote start and lock/unlock don't work. The blue assist support button also doesn't do anything.
2) Periodically when switching driver between memory 1 and 2 (or vice versa) the seat and mirror locations recall correctly, however the seat fully reclines. Anyone else seen this?
3) The side mirrors have an annoying whistle around 50 mph
4) There seems to be a deep bass sound when first starting up the vehicle? From the stereo or powertrain? not sure...

I have a Limited only 2 weeks ago. I also have the annoying whistle from the side mirrors around 50 mph. However, I test drove 3 different Cherokee L's and they all had it.

I also notice the deep bass sound when first starting up, however after a couple minutes when the idle levels out it goes away.

Haven't seen any of these issues. However, there are a few annoyances that I'm discovering. The technology suite is annoyingly difficult to use especially finding night vision. The cup holders in the doors are smaller in the rear seats, such that a circular tissue box doesn't fit. For a $60k plus car I can't believe it doesn't have (and I missed when test driving) the auto exit feature on the driver seat where it lifts the steering wheel out of the way and moves the seat back. The most annoying is the lack of storage space. The glove box is tiny, \and the center box is 1/2 the size of my Lexus RX450HL. Finally, there's more hard plastic than I thought there would be, and the piano black finish on the center console is going to be a disaster in the long run with scratches.

All this being said, still a decent ride...

I forgot to mention.... Dealer did a software update as we took delivery. Not sure if that is the root cause of some of the issues you are seeing, but might want to check that all the software TSB's have been taken care of.

Night vision is a one-button push on the steering wheel. If you can see the MPH on the dash, just hit the > button on the left side of the wheel.

Auto Exit is a feature that you need to activate in the settings.

As for cup holders, storage, glove box, and interior finish: all were all features apparent during your test drive. If you were in the car for a drive, what do you mean that there was more plastic than expected?

test drove a summit that had leather on the door trim and center console. Dealer assured me it was the same on the Overland. Bought it sight unseen... Not a huge deal, just surprised at this price point. Keep in mind, we are easily into BMW X5 territory on pricing....

Sounds like a lesson learned about believing dealers and knowing what you’re buying, as you said, at this price point. Good luck.

What trim? Mine has easy exit seats and wheel.

We have issue #2 in spades. Have had the car a few weeks. Wife and I both have a profile and mapped seat memory buttons to the remotes. Every time we get in the car the seat moves to some random position and reclines. When it does this it loses the original memorized position so you have to completely reset the seat. It's getting very annoying. Scheduled an appointment to bring it in to the dealer. Anyone else seeing this issue?

I have also noticed the deep base sound when starting my JGCL. It doesn’t happen every time. Anyone have an ideas what that might be?

Same here with the deep bass issue. I hope there’s a fix. I can’t reproduce the issue as it happens randomly on startup so not sure the dealer will be able to help.

I too have the problem with the deep bass sound. Is there a cure?
I have the same problem. It happens after a cold start or while driving. I notice it only when the tach hits 1000 RPM. I have taken it to dealer, they found the heat shield touching exhaust causing vibration. Quick adjust to heat shields worked for a day but noise is back. Very irritating.

My vehicle has 1600 miles on it. I'm going to live with it until 3,000 miles when I take it in for the first oil change. I will share these posts with the dealer. I too looked at the heat shield, and checked the connections myself -- everything was snug. I find the vibration is very inconsistent. For me, it typically happens when I first start the vehicle (when it's cold), put the break on and put it in reverse (while my foot is still on the brake pedal) -- the bass sound starts. Yet, open any door, it goes away. Something resonates the interior and starts that bass sound. Another note - the full size spare was loose (from the factory? ), before I learned this -- the car really resonated - 10 times of where it is now. Then I tightened the spare and thought I fixed it. Still had the bass sound, but it wasn't as bad. Everyone might check their spare tire assembly and confirm it's snug. It's not too hard to do. By the way, I see Jeep Cares is on this thread -- since I am new to this forum -- anyone know if they're officially affiliated with Jeep? Lastly, I am hoping this bass sound (if the dealer can't fix it) goes away with time. Hoping that once the vehicle breaks in the sound works itself out. I will continue to post as I earn more.

I have that too. Perhaps it's just the mighty beast waking up 🙂
