It was 29 years ago today, that the Jeep® brand shook up the SUV segment with the introduction of the 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee (ZJ). Originally intended to be a replacement for the legendary Jeep Grand Wagoneer (SJ), the all-new ZJ was introduced to the media at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit in a stunt that kicked off the most awarded nameplate in the SUV segment.

I have to be honest & say I was starting to lose confidence in the Jeep brand in regards to technology and driver assist features. I was seriously considering the Mustang Mach E due to its upcoming hands free driving, Copilot 360, Sync 4a infotainment, and OTA update capability. However, it’s an electric car & I have concerns about it the battery & charging.

Now that I see that the Grand Cherokee will offer hands free driving, I’m very interested in that. Also, I see it will have a 360 degree camera & foot activated lift gate similar to the Mach E, as well as OTA updates.

I’m hoping some automotive journalists will do a detail review of the hands free driving, infotainment system, and other features. That will help me decide if I’m interested in this Jeep.
