Key Fob Not Detected

I have gotten this message 3 times in the last several months. Then it says to press the Start button with the fob, which starts the engine. Initially, the dealer told me that I probably got a bad batch of fob batteries and gave me new ones. It happened again this am. I pulled the fob battery and it is good. I have an appointment with the dealer for them to check it out. Has anyone else had this issue?

Had this issue with my WK a lot. Had to replace the battery almost every six months compared to years with other RKEs I had. There's a lot going on with that fob electronically so there's more of a drain. I just bought a bunch of batteries from Amazon and keep q few other glove box.

I don't know where you keep the fob but even moving it away from the ignition switch a foot can render it unreadable.

The fob is always in my side pants pocket. I checked the batteries today, and they are still good. Also, as I approach the vehicle, the exterior/interior lights wake up, so the fob is definitely communicating with the vehicle.

It is intermittent on my jeep. If the fob is on the back seat on my gym bag, I cannot start the vehicle. Many times the fob id on my belt loop and my finger touch will not open the door or lock the door. I'm feeling luck it starts the car.

Unfortunately 99% of the issues with these pos vehicles are intermittent.
Translation at the dealer…… could not duplicate. Translation it will not be fixed.

Well, as an update, I now have another FOB battery that's dead. That makes it 7 dead batteries in a year between the two FOB's I have another appointment with the dealer in a few weeks. I insisted that they don't just replace the battery without finding a cause. Based on the Owners Manual, the battery should last about 3 years with normal usage.

I remember when my '22 was built in February that I barely missed a big problem with a defective batch of modules which were causing issues like that. Brand new Jeeps which were only a few days / weeks old would forget their fob's and go into some kind of theft lockdown mode. There was a recall issued for it on the affected vehicles. Don't know if this would be related to that module or not, but it's worth asking your dealer about it and maybe checking your Jeep app to see if there's any recalls on your vin...

Thanks for your response, but, that problem was strictly for the 22 model.
