Yesterday I was running an errand and I turned off and got out of my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit reserve. Key FOB was inside (I usually keep it in the driver door handle space). As soon as I shut the driver door, it honked 3 times and locked all the doors! I was surprised, but thought "no problem, key is inside so I can just pull the handle and open it". Nope, nothing. Tried the back doors, nothing. Tried the front passenger door, nothing. I could see the FOB sitting in there, looking through the window, but could not get the doors to unlock. Luckily I had my cell phone with me and was considering calling someone, but then decided to check the back gate, and it opened! It didn't unlock any doors, but it opened!
So I climbed in, reached over the back seat and unlocked one of the back doors. Then I got in the back door, and reached over and unlocked the driver door and got my key FOB. Everything seems to work perfectly with the key, locking, unlocking etc. I have left the key inside hundreds of times without this ever happening before. Anyone else run into this random (and scary) bug?
