How to clean UConnect and gauge cluster screens?

Unfortunately had to take mine into the body shop to repair some door damage. They wiped the screens with a wet dirty rag. What’s the best way to clean? Hoping they aren’t permanently scratched.

I was given a cloth, in the package with my owners manual, specifically for this purpose. It's a microfiber type cloth, like you'd clean your glasses with, but much larger.

Yeah I think microfiber cloths (dry) work well on the infotainment screens. Turn off the screen for easiest cleaning.

A product called plexus will remove light scratches. It’s kinda pricey and was developed for the aviation industry to polish the windscreens on fighter jets. I’ve used it for years. It’s anti static which helps with dust particles on the screens and dash surfaces. I buy it on Amazon. I use a soft microfiber cloth to apply it.

Plexus Plastic Cleaner, Protectant and Polish (13-Ounce) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00092CKN4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_G9RRCKN5DV4JHJ510ECN

I've done it both ways - spray directly on the plastic and wipe off with microfiber cloth - spray on microfiber cloth and then wipe surface. Typically, I'm removing bugs so I spray it on the surface to soften the bugs, but that shouldn't be an issue with the console! ;)
If the scratches don't come out you may need to step up to a plastic polish like Meguiars #10

I've used Meguires #10 with great success on both clear polycarbonate and acrylic, but never on piano black interior trim, so while it is not at all abrasive, you might test it on an inconspicuous spot first.

Yeah I just went and sprayed the console with the plexus let it sit for a few seconds then wiped it down with a micro fiber and it didn’t get the scratches out i honestly want to vinyl wrap it because that center just attracts so much dust it’s crazy here are before and after pictures for anyone wondering

Does this product protect the piano black from light scratches?

I think a film of some sort would be best. As soon as someone offers a precut version I would be the first to buy,

Agree. There is another thread that someone had found a shop that had a pattern for the Apex PPF to be computer cut for the console pieces. I've inquired with my local shop that did the PPF and window tint to see if they could also acquire the pattern.

If I could get the vector file for the pattern I would use my laser cutter or Cricut cutter and make them myself. Anyone have files?

Yes a soft microfiber cloth. Something lint free. I use big white soft cloths that I find at the local auto parts stores.
