Hey U Connect or Hey Jeep Command Not Working

Not sure what happened but the verbal command “Hey U Connect” or Hey Jeep” does not work anymore in my ’21 GCL Jeep. I double checked to make sure that the verbal command was still checked under settings. Has anyone had the same issue? It started up over the last month or so. Prior to this the verbal command worked fine.

It’s been nearly two months since this feature quit working. One of the last OTA updates is suspect for ths malfunction, IMO. Well yesterday I tried for perhaps the sixth time resetting the unit since this issue started and surprisingly it started working. I can once again say “Hey Jeep” and it responds. I felt for a moment that this issue was behind me but no. Today when I started the vehicle this feature was not working again. There is no question about it, the UConnect version 5 has its glitches and really needs to get a bit more attention to get these glitches resolved. Examples include: the occasional cell phone lost connection such as CarPlay, the volume for the radio occasionally goes into a muted mode, sometimes the heads up display is missing information for no reason, sometimes UConnect just forgets some of the custom settings you spent an hour or more selecting early on. Why? Who knows, but I do think some of these are the results of OTA updates that are designed to fix some issue and end up inadvertently causing another. It just confirms the UConnect 5 system is still to date a work in progress.
