Hemi Unavailable - Summit Reserve (2 row) Order 3/25/22

I called my dealer today (3/25/22) to finalize my order for a 2022 Summit Reserve with a Hemi and was told by my salesman that the system was no longer allowing dealers to select the V8 Hemi option as of today. Has anyone else encountered this? The Electronic Limited Slip Differential delete was still showing up as well on 3/24 and 3/25. No V8 is a deal breaker for me, so I will be waiting to submit order until it becomes available again.

EDIT: I was told that the Hemi is still selectable for the L but not for the 2-row model.

Interesting. I wonder what that means for existing orders in the system if this holds true. My SR Hemi order from 1/24 still has no VIN assigned.

If your order was accepted, then a vin would have been assigned within days; check back with your dealer, something is not right.

Order was accepted as "sold vehicle" and VON was issued. Unfortunately, our Canadian timing is a bit of a mess, we're not seeing VINs within days/weeks as many of the American orders are. (n)

Wow back to the eLSD delete. I thought that was a thing of the past. My summit build/sticker shows no deletes. Hope to get it within the next few weeks. Yesterdays status was KZ-S.

I've read posts from other users saying the same thing about not having any deletes on their build/sticker, so I hope yours arrives intact!

A different dealer in Dallas said that they expect the pause on 2-row Hemi orders to last for approximately 2 months. I hope that gives Jeep/Stellantis time to sort out these ridiculous equipment deletes.

What happens if you placed the order with the ELSD delete, but when it is being built months later it's available?

Whether something is deleted or not should be determined at build time, not ordering time, I believe. So there shouldn’t be such a thing as an an order with a delete—just a build with one. I think.

The dealer said I should receive everything the Build/window stick reflects. All deletions MUST be reflected on those documents. My build/window sticker shows no deletions, therefore, I expect none!!

Not sure this is 100% correct. Both jeep.com and the NADA guides show an option for the ELSD delete (on the gas versions, not 4xe). I assumed it was a way for people who didn’t care to save money..

Thanks for the correction.

So a more accurate answer would be “Normally, unwanted deletes happen at build time, not order time. Deletes should only be present on the order sheet if you‘ve specifically asked for them.“

At my dealer the ELSD delete was "required". Not possible to order with ELSD.

Were you getting the two or three row? From what I could tell online (though I think just looking at either Summit or Summit Reserve trims), the online tool only required it for the 3-row.

That's new!

Knowing upfront at order stage, that they would delete a standard item, would allow me to delete sale. That is much better than deleting, after the sale, without my knowledge. The problem I have with these deletions is not so much at the receipt time, its when I go to sell that wounded vehicle. I am SURE it will cost me more than what the manufacturer gave me for the deletion. Again, when I pick up my Summit and there has been a deletion without my knowledge....I walk.

I notice on the Company Car ordering site they only offer Limited, Overland and Summit models for ordering. The V8 option is missing from them all, only the V6 is available for order. This is the 2-row, V8 sill there for the 3-row.
