Grand Cherokee L radio not playing

Anyone had any luck with the latest Apple updates to your phone ios 15.3. I updated last night and my phone connected to the carplay automatically this morning, which is not normal. Not sure if its a fluke but wondering if it could be an Apple issue/fix?
I may be wrong, but I have the feeling that Apple's soft update caused the issue. I left my iPhone to update itself overnight(iOS 16.1.1 (20B101)) and the next morning once I plugged in the USB cable everything went kaboom - no radio, no CarPlay, no chimes, no seat belt chime, nothing. The McIntosh's blue-backlit sound meters were moving but no sound was coming out from any of the speakers. I erased profiles, and countlessly reset the unit(VOL+TUNE buttons, incl. SETTINGS-RESET-RESTART RADIO) but the only sound I was able to get was the Waze speeding camera alert a couple of times and that's it. I have a friend who suggested disconnecting the battery for 5min and see if that'll fix the issue but hasn't tried that yet. Do we have Jeep Start specialists in here reading these posts?

I don’t think this has anything to do with your iPhone update. This happened to my radio about 3 months ago and it had to be replaced. It took over 3 weeks for the replacement to arrive since Jeep Corporate has to approve it.

That outcome — McIntosh meters move but no sound from anything — is identical to what I experienced. And after having the dealer check the car out for a day or two, they ended up deciding that a new radio is needed. Took about two weeks for the new radio to arrive. Audio now works post-replacement, but CarPlay seems spotty at times, and the WiFi hotspot feature isn’t working. Jeep customer service says that issue requires another trip to the dealer. At least my Uconnect isn’t stuck in Italian and metric like the person earlier in this thread mentioned…

My 2021 GCL Overland is now headed back to the dealership for the second time to address problems with the radio. The WiFi hotspot hasn’t worked since the radio was replaced, and now the SiriusXM radio won’t connect or let me sign in. CarPlay has been spotty at times as well. Not fun!

One day later and everything is fixed — at least for now. Dealership said that the issues were cured by a software update of some kind (I didn’t ask for details.). Hopefully the fixes will stick.

Has anyone had any issues with the radio not playing on the Grand Cherokee L? The speakers work but the radio is not playing.
Just picked ours from the dealership. The service manager told me that the amplifier gave up so I had to wait 2 weeks for a new one. Those reset tricks and etc. he said don’t work. Once your audio starts to act and completely stops unfortunately that means a replacement of the whole unit is needed. Don’t waste your time with DIY stuff, call the corporate and let them open a Star case.
