The funny part is they responded faster to fixing CarPlay issues. Notices for this recall dont arrive until July and parts are probably vaporware at this point.

Well, in their favor, they claim that nobody has been affected by this yet and they're doing it proactively...

15 warranty claims = 15 vehicles brought to dealer. Those are the ones they know about. If a cir clip is missing on a universal or stripped/missing bolt at either end of the shaft, it is pure luck and driving conditions as to why no one has been injured. Rework on the line of safety critical parts is a big no no and removes liability from suppliers and places it on the assembly plant. The article mentions an improper repair at the assembly plant. So they knew it was an issue at the time of manufacture and repaired it. Knowledge + Intent = Culpability.

I had this issue fixed at my dealer recently and the car feels brand new…which makes me realize how bad it was since I bought the car new lol

Old Chrysler used to be better at it. I’ve had other first year Dodge and Jeep vehicles without these problems. The standards have lowered over years, I suppose.
