Gas filler door

Has anyone else noticed the gas filler door paint not matching the rear quarter. We have the red velvet color and over the weekend out in the sun it appears the filler door is darker than the quarter panel. Like it wasn’t painted at the same time and then batch was a little different? Maybe it’s just my eyes.

The problem that Stellanits/Jeep says is due to the different materials being painted. Plastic has a different effect on the paint than the metal does. There are issues across the whole Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler line up....

It's not just Jeep it's every manufacturer. I work in the insurance industry and am an app adjuster. My previous vehicle was a Cadillac XT5 and the bumpers, mirrors and gas cap did not match because of the plastic to metal difference. When any manufacturer paints a vehicle they paint all the parts together. The issue as saleen032 said is the difference in materials. Plastic takes paint different then metal. but when you paint them all at the same time they are going to be different color. Go to any car dealership and look at any new car from a Range Rover to a Chevy Bolt. None of the painted bumpers are going to match the car.
