Door Panel Removal

Just a heads up.. removed the front door panel to install dynamat on the doors to absorb road noise and improve bass response. No go…. As you can see in the pics….
The entire plastic covering there would need to be removed. Way more work than I cared to get I to CC711E30-2534-442E-8A1D-BF35D59C1405.jpeg

Unfortunately this is how Jeep has been making the doors for a while. Tried to do the same thing on a 2007 and found the exact same thing you did. But thanks for the heads up!

What trim level is yours? Do you have the window sun shades? I am trying to figure out how hard it would be to purchase those and install.

Trim is overland.... The sun shade is built into the door panel trim and would be a nightmare to install.

Not a bad Idea about removing the speaker, but don't think I'd be able to get much mat on the door panel through that small opening.....

unless that speaker is in a box in the door. Can’t really tell without popping the 4 screws out and looking behind.
