Dipped my 18” Limited Wheels

My new 22 GCL Limited is a company car so I can only do reversible mods. I decided to try Anthracite gray Hyperdip from dipyourcar. I really like the look so far. The wheels do not disappear like the black OEM ones, but they also don’t stick out like a sore (cheap) thumb like the stock painted silver. Hopefully this holds up, but even if not it is easy and cheap enough to re-do every once in a while.

Looks good! How long did it take? Was 1 kit enough for all four wheels? Any unintended spray on the car or brakes? Any cautions or hardships doing it?

It took about half a day. I dismounted the wheels, used blue painter’s tape, a trash bag and magazine pages with a crescent cut out to to mask off the tires, lug hole bases and the wheel tub. So overspray is not an issue, and I am free to rotate tires, etc.

Hith the hyperdip, it is has a very low viscosity vs Plasti Dip. So the first 3-4 coats must be VERY light. Otherwise it WILL run. After the light coats I did another ~5-6 more medium wet coats.

One tip when using hyperdip vs plasti dip, if you accidentally get a spot you think might be too thick and will run, just roll/spin the wheel slowly for about a minute and you might be able to save it.

In the end the finish is perfect and glossy/satin finish which looks just like the dark gray WK wheels OEM finish.
