So we finally have our Hemi, Baltic Gray with Black roof configured! It will be ordered next week when allocations open up for my dealer, he said that it'll have priority over non sold vehicles but might take up to 2 months to arrive.

All Summits come std with the Black roof, is this an Overland with the Black roof Option?
If the dealer is telling you he's waiting on allocation to order, is it really a Dealer order or a Market (customer) order?
Why is he not able to put a Market order for you right away?

My understanding from my dealer when I ordered is that the black roof only comes on summit and summit reserve.

Hi. Newbie to the Jeep world here. I am going to go in today to try to order an Overland with the 5.7L HEMI (woo! hoo!). The tow package is ncessary and captain chairs are desirable. Any pitfalls to avoid or suggestions in the ordering process? I haven't ordered a new car through a dealer (or otherwise) before so any advice is appreciated.

Hi. So I went to the dealer to price out an order. One thing that surprised me was that he said the system is forcing the package with 10.1" Touchscreen on the Overalnd if I choose the V8. If I stay with the Pentastar V6 there is no problem. Because of this the Overland with V8 is working out to be the same as a well equipped Summit, i.e. 65K. Anyone has any insight into this? Is this probably because of initial production limitations?
Essentially, I am trying to get the Overland 4x4 with a V8. (I assume the tow package is included for that combination).

Because of the ongoing plastic and semiconductor chip shortage, Stellantis is only building certain pre-configured builds at the moment. You can read about them in the news section on the forum.

That makes sense. It's about reducing variation in the production process. They are going through furloughs until they have enough parts to run all production shifts.
But that still doesn't explain why you would tie a V8 engine to an Entertainment package. The standard Uconnect is still being used for Limited so is not like you dont need two displays anyway.
This can also be a play to maximize revenue. You want V8, you pay for the Entertainment group.

Ok. I guess that makes sense. Initially, I thought the dealer was trying to pull a fast one :cautious:. I will probably wait a few days and get some more info from other dealers and decide if I can pussh the upper bound on the budget.

Hi. I was trying to configure the GCL online (now that it is possible to do so). One thing I noticed is that the Overland model specifically states that the "Trailer Tow Package" is included. When I try to configure the Summit model, I don't get either the option to add this package or any indication that it is included. The standard feature mentiones that the "Class IV Hitch" is included but no info on the overall tow package (witing harness, engine/transmission cooler etc.). I wonder if I am missing something or if the other stuff is already included. Seems unlikely that the Summit model will not have the full tow package available.
Also, all the info and help on this forum is much appreciated. Thanks!

The Tow package is std on both Overland and Summit 4x4s

Found out this afternoon my GCL is now at ‘F ‘ status (paint). Coming along!
The dealer said that with new models they will often spend extra time inspecting and stress testing so even once built, I should not expect to see my car shipped until much later in the month.

Can anyone confirm that the UBN Uconnect 5 Nav w 10.1" Display (USA) option for $1795 on the Overland does in fact include the Macintosh 19 Speaker system? Just ordered today and need to put my mind at ease.

Entertainment Group (UBN) — includes 10.1-in. radio with navigation and nine-speaker Alpine audio system (Limited) or 19-speaker McIntosh audio sound system (Overland)
