Dealer Allocation Opens For 2021 Jeep® Grand Cherokee L Limited & Summit Models:

Found out this afternoon my GCL is now at ‘F ‘ status (paint). Coming along!
The dealer said that with new models they will often spend extra time inspecting and stress testing so even once built, I should not expect to see my car shipped until much later in the month.
Curious what your estimated ship date shows on your build sheet? Mine is 5/4 and is still D1 last I checked

If you look at the online build and price configuration tool why does it only mention a 19 speaker Harman/Kardon sound system for the overland/Summit rather than the McIntosh system? Are they using the H/K unit for early builds or is this just a typo?

this is an odd one.. the graphics show the mcintosh speakers .. yet the text says H/K.

I would trust more all the previous documentation (Brochure, Feature Availability) on what the Premium Audio system upgrade is: McIntosh.
Its probably a typo on the text for the Build tool, the '21 2-row GC does come with Harman/Kardon.
One more glitch after the Build tool went live.

My Dealer is having trouble finding the stand alone upgrade for the Macintosh 19 speaker system for the Summit but it was available on the 10.1 UConnect upgrade for the Overland. Has anyone else had success adding the upgraded stereo system on a Summit?

I had the same response from my dealer, it is not yet available for Summit (another discrepancy vs the Build tool)
You can only get it for the moment by upgrading to Summit Reserve or in the Overland as part of the Uconnect upgrade to 10.1"

What is everyone's gut feeling on the stock Alpine system? I currently have the HK System in my 2018 GC. Is it a big step down?

The Alpine on GCL is an upgrade for Limited and Standard on Overland/Summit.
There's no HK anymore so the premium would be with Mcintosh, also 19 speakers. Available for upgrade in Overland/Summit and standard on Summit Reserve.
If you mean is it a step down from a HK premium to the Alpine option, then yes. But it depends what Trim you want to get on the GCL to determine if its worth it paying for the Mcintosh upgrade.

I'm trying to get the McIntosh on the Summit but my dealer is not able to add that option even though it's shown on the configurator as mentioned above. Thanks for you feedback, maybe I wait?

Still May 5, which is obviously not happening. The dealer said it MIGHT be here by Memorial Day but he wouldn’t guarantee anything.
I check in with them every week or so for an update so I’ll be interested to see what they say next Monday.

unfortunately no other choice but to wait until Jeep matches what's on the Build tool and the dealer ordering platform.

Made my weekly call to my dealership today and was told I was through the build process and at final inspection! He also told me that a couple of other vehicles were ordered, built, and they were in storage (?) now. Finally, he said that he was told that none of these would be released for shipping until the end of the month. Assuming they are planning to ship these all together.
