Canadian Orders & Timelines

Hi All,

Been following a lot of order threads on this great forum. However, curious how any fellow Canadians have faired with their orders so far? Seems like the timing up north seems to vastly different than our American friends. I'm seeing members on here having their VINs within days/weeks.

I'm surprised it's been 2 months for my order and I don't even have my VIN yet?? Order is marked '4EA-Sold Vehicle' and everything seems to be clean in the system.

2022 WL74 V8 Summit Reserve
Deal Sign: 1/22
Vehicle Ordered (VON): 1/24
Check-in 2/22 - NO VIN
Check-in 3/22 - NO VIN

I was told 3-4 months from order to delivery, starting to worry that may not be the case!

Thoughts? Cause for concerns?

They haven’t starting making them for non-employee customers. Definitely won’t be 3 months.

VINs are assigned before the build is scheduled, and (as far as I know) aren’t contingent upon anything other than the order being submitted. So whether they’re close to building your vehicle or not, I’d still expect your VIN to have been assigned weeks ago.

Are you ”checking in” with your dealer, or with Jeep chat? Whichever you’re doing, I’d suggest trying the other.

Sorry - is that Canadian specific? They're only building Employee ordered vehicles?

VINs are assigned before the build is scheduled, and (as far as I know) aren’t contingent upon anything other than the order being submitted, so whether they’re ready to build your vehicle or not, I’d still expect your VIN to have been assigned a long time ago.

Are you ”checking in” with your dealer, or with Jeep chat? Whichever you’re doing, I’d suggest trying the other.

Thanks Indigovic, that's definitely what I was expecting that at least the VIN would be assigned / sequenced. Unfortunately, we don't have a chat function. I tried using the American site chat function, but they won't talk to anyone with a Canadian order. As a result, all my info is coming directly from the dealership.

VON Jan 24/22
BX Status Jan 31st (no VIN yet)
VIN was available sometime before Feb. 17th, not sure exact date before
Build Sheet and Window Sticker available sometime before 3/7 again not sure how much before
Vehicle arrived at dealership 3/11

That is correct Canadian Status can only come from your Dealer/salesman. I tried numerous times on chat and they would not provide that information for Canadian orders.

Well congrats! That's quite a reasonable timeline. I also ordered from a dealership within GTA as well, can only hope for the best from here I suppose 😅

Sorry, I misread and thought you had said 4xe, those aren’t being built yet.

The gas powered versions you might get it than timeframe but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

I guess if I were in your shoes, I’d start pushing the dealer to make sure there isn’t a problem. I would think they would recognize that you should have had a VIN weeks ago.

If you have no chat, just send them an email, works similiar way, but ull have to wait about 2 days for any reply.

I feel your pain. Ordered mine Dec 9 2021 and still waiting for a delivery date. I found out, at least for US orders, production and delivery is based on dealer historical volume more than sequential order. My dealer, I'm told, is lower than whale sh**. There are deliveries at 2 months and others wait 5 months or more. From my point of view it should be first come, first service in sequential order!!

Yea I hear you, definitely should be that way! I ordered from a high volume Toronto dealership and still can't seem to even get a VIN assigned.

How long till after order did you get your VIN?

Got the VIN about 6 weeks after ordering. Final inspection and placed in storage 5 weeks ago with no expected delivery. I guess if they have some space on the train after filling high volume dealer orders they'll ship mine. We (dealer and I) don't expect to get a delivery notice that it has been shipped. Will probably know when it is trucked from Jessup, Md to the dealer.
