Apple Car Play - IOS 16

I guess the engineers at Jeep will have to start all over getting a new Software update for the 2021 GCL Overlands now that IOS 16 is out. This is a big issue in our car. Everything else seems to work and be rattle free. However Carplay is a disaster. Dealer said jeep engineers (well they actually told me Chrysler Engineers yikes) were working on an update. guess we will never see it. Should give us a nice rebate back for this issue and then fix it for free. My 23k kia works better. Hopefully the Magic Link box I ordered fixes the issue once and for all. Still BS that I have to buy something that is included already in the car but does not work ever. Or when it does work....do not get out of the car and back in and expect it to work. It will take 24hours or a reset to make it work. Total BS.

Having same issues with CarPlay connectivity with iPhone running iOS16. Wireless or hardwired with USB cable CarPlay does not work anymore with uconnect, very glitchy when it does stay connected for short periods of time.

Might try deleting iPhone from registered device in uconnect to resolve.

Have a 22 GCL Overland.

wife will get into the car car play works if she gets out to say go into a gas station or something and gets back in car play is gone. Its stays connected but you get no resources. It takes until the car sits for a long period of time to come back. So glitchy. This is either wired or wireless. My phone did the same thing on vacation. If you look at the setting it just shows it trying to connect but locks you out. Very annoying.

Yes It is a very annoying vehicle to say the least. Sorta like the memory seats that haven’t work in the year I’ve owned this pos not to mention the dozen or so intermittent glitches that you guessed it…. Service dept could not duplicate.

I still have an iPhone 12 on iOS 15.6.1 and it's STILL a complete $%*&ing disaster. It has half a dozen different ways to shit the bed, and fixing any given one can take anywhere from 5 minutes of cursing, to just finally giving up. When it does work, the speakers rattle the door panels and ruin the music anyway. Absolute garbage. Can't wait to see what happens when I upgrade to the new iPhone.

But when you pay 63k for a vehicle you do not expect to have to reboot the radio every day.

And then rebooting it doesn't always fix it either. I've even tried pulling the car over (while towing the boat home from the lake 45 mins away) and making all five kids and adults get out, lock the car, walk far enough away from it I hoped the FOB would be out of range, in hopes that the whole thing would reboot and it would let us play music - even just FM radio - to drown out the screaming children. Nope. I keep a f*&^ing JBL bluetooth speaker in the car to throw on the dash now. It's ridiculous, and infuriating. And then, it's getting dark, you're in a national park with all the biggest, dumbest animals in North America in the road, and you can't even turn on the high beams!

All in, I've dropped $80k into this purchase. SO. MUCH. W. T. F. with this thing!?!
