4ft across? (Cargo dimensions request)

At 78" wide, the new grand cherokee is exactly the same width as the new pathfinder, which can carry 4x8 sheets flat. Being a rear-drive platform however, particularly one which may have a 392 hemi in its future, it's unclear if the rear wheel wells in the new GC can accommodate that or if jeep has opted for greater tire and suspension space.

I suspect for some of you it's a non-issue, but as someone who has no space for a trailer and would like to trade in his truck, it would be really helpful if it could load 4x8s flat. I use them for all kinds of projects.

Anyone willing to provide in-depth cargo dims?

Just checked. 43.25 wide in my Overland. Not sure if air suspension impacts that at all. Interesting because I was able to fit 4x8 in my X5 and didn’t realize the wheel wells indent so much on the GCL.

Interesting, thank you for the detailed information. I wonder that do we have another figure about the tire of Jeep; I'm looking for it through a lot of forums but still couldn't find it out; any advice, please

48" width across the 2nd row. But only 40" wide across the 3rd row.

For what it's worth, from the tailgate to the back of the front passenger seat slid forward a bit was 84"
