2023 options

Does anyone have any insight as to why grey was removed as an interior color for Overland, and if or when it, or any non-black interior option might return? This article make is seem like it was a marketing, more than a supply chain issue:

This article, published 1/1/2023, indicates the Off Road Package is now back for the 2023 Overland:

"While the Trailhawk model is exclusively for the two-row Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in (PHEV) in 2023, the Grand Cherokee does offer a Trail-Rated option once again for 2023. The Overland Off-Road Package includes skid plates for the fuel tank, transfer case, underbody, and front suspension, electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD) rear axle, 18-in. polished aluminum wheels, all-season tires, and Trail Rated badge. "

But that option doesn't appear among the 2023 options on the Jeep build site. Does someone with access to the dealer order interface now see the Off-Road Package for 2 row Overland, either ICE or 4xe?

The 2023 Official Jeep Catalog also shows Off-Road Group for Overland, (and Trailhawk), both ICE and 4xe versions, on pages 4 and 8. But all US dealers I've asked say they don't have it in their order guide.
Maybe it hasn't propagated to their order database yet.

This this option has appeared in the US code guides, it is marked "late availability" and the company car system won't allow you to order it yet. It is an option for the Overland only.

Thanks for this. This is more than the active US dealers would say. I suppose there's no way to tell when "late" is, but hopefully by mid year.

In my experience, "late availability" means they heve decided they will provide this option, when is totally unknown. At least it is on the table.

I’ll just note that not all ”late availability” plans come to fruition. Hands-Free Active Driving Assist was originally announced as “late availabilty” for the 2022 GC, and it doesn’t look like that feature will make it onto even 2023 models. Same deal with several “late availability” paint colors. I’ve come to think of “late availability“ as “maybe availability.”

As of a couple of weeks ago, the jeep.com site now includes the Off Road Group option for the 2023 Overland, (ICE only). But the dealers still say they can't order it. Has anyone seen this on an order screen? Also, any hints of any other interior colors than black, such as the previously offered gray, for Overlands?

FWIW, the USA 2023 2-row code guide just reissued on 2/10/23 still lists the V6 as the only option available for all WL models. However the guide for the 3-row model lists the 5.7 available for Overland and Summit 4x4 models only, no others. This guide was also reissued on 2/10/23.

The Off Road Group option for the V6 Overland briefly returned to the jeep.com site, but is suddenly gone again. Even then, the dealers couldn't order it when it was listed as an available option. The only part of that option that's electronic is the eLSD. Is that the holdup?

Don't want to order until Off Road option is available, (hopefully with a non-black interior). The FCA Customer Care no. listed by Jake above has a menu that unfortunately only routes to people with the public information, so all they can say is to ask your dealer. So far, @chry3d has more insight on US availability than the dealers. Has anyone seen any news on this?

I assume that's addressed to @chry3d since I don't have access to the dealer site. Don't know who else in this forum might have that, but @chry3d has been a good source of facts.
I do not have access to DealerConnect, perhaps Jake22 does but I believe he is in Canada. That is a site for dealers. I once worked on the backend of DIAL (Dealer Information Access Link) when I worked at Chrysler in IT but have no access now to the current system. What I am looking at is the "Code Guides" that layout what is actually available to order and on what models. This is the guide we retirees use to order corporate lease vehicles and they are reissued many times a year. My assumption is dealers can also see the code guides but perhaps do not use them to order these days. I worked on DIAL before dealers used the Internet, we had a Hughes Satellite network to dealers then. DealerCONNECT replaced DIAL I believe. Been retired for several years now.

New code guides issued 3/2/23 still list only the V6 available for all the 2- row GC and the V8 only available for the 4x4 Overland and Summit 3-row. Also, the guides I have are USA only, Canada can be different, often is. I cannot get Canadian guides as I am a USA retiree.
