2023 options

Based on the Jeep build site, which now shows pricing for the 2023 models, (ICE only), it seems that the interior color options for Overland consists only of Global Black, (which gets pretty hot in the summer). Is there some shortage of gray or tan leather suddenly, or is this part of a gradual rollout to simplify initial 2023 production? Also, there seems to be a different set of options, (but no price), for the 2023 4xe Overland, which omits the Off Road Group, and the 19 speaker McIntosh sound system, but has more interior colors.

If the public build site is accurate, it looks like the the 4xe doesn't offer the 19 speaker system until the SR model, while the ICE models offer it starting at the Overland. Again, is this a roll out issue, or is there a specific condition with the 4xe and the higher powered audio system?

Pricing for 4xe is out, I have the code guide and it is VERY pricey. MSRP for the 4xe summit is $71,195. Yep, Global Black is the only option for the Overland ICE. Off Road (AM2) is offered only on the WLXS74 (Overland). Summit has ELSD standard but it seems not skid plates. The whole thing is complex to get straight by the code guides. I know the 4xe is so expensive, I would never get one.

On the '23 4xe, Is the McIntosh audio system no longer an option for anything but the SR? It doesn't appear as an option until it's standard on the SR. Is there an issue with it and the electrical system? It's still available on the ICE versions from the Overland up.

All I can find on the code guide dated 9/28 is RDH (950 Watt amp) standard on Overland (XS74) and Summit (XT74). RFD (506 Watt amp) standard on regular GC (XP74) and Trailhawk (XR74). There does not seem to be any option to order the RDH on these 2 models.

Thanks for that insight. The difference seems to be for the 4xe models only. Is the RDH available on the Overland 4xe? Is doesn't seem to be listed on the public build site.

I thought I was clear on that. This is the 4xe. RDH is the standard radio on the Overland so not an option.

Thanks for the reply. But it's confusing because on the public build site for the Overland 4xe, with no alternate options, it shows as standard:
  • 506 Watt Amplifier
  • 9 Amplified Speakers with Subwoofer
I don't see a way to list them by their code names, but based on your summary, that seems to be the RFD. The ICE Overland does offer the RDH option, (though the selection of that option seems to break the image preview).

not sure how accurate this is, but if you look at the URL, it will change some of the codes lists as you make changes. might be able to determine which one depending on seeing what changes in the URL when switching options on the page. THere are probably other ways, but this is easiest to look at.

Somewhat unrelated but does anyone have any updated information on the hurricane I6?

Any chance this makes it into a WL in 23 or are we still thinking 24?

The '23 model link is an I6, ICE rather than a 4xe. If you see the Jeep.com build site, the McIntosh option isn't listed anywhere for the '23 4xe. Dealers can't order '22 models anymore, so I'm not sure why they're listed on the site, unless they're just trying to clear some inventory that some may still have.

Yep—the build site is meant to help customers find their desired model in stock somewhere even more than is meant to inform their potential custom order. And dealers have only just begun to receive 2022 4xe GC inventory orders, and they’ll continue to do so for some time yet. (Out here in the Seattle area, where the train ride from Detroit takes three weeks, the only 4xe GC my dealer has had in so far was my February preorder. He said as far as he knew, only one local dealer has had one inventory order arrive.) So I’d expect those 2022 pages to remain up on the build site for at least a couple of months.

That would be more helpful if you listed the source of the form rather that a screen grab. Is that an online site? If so, do you have a URL that creates an order as the Jeep.com site does?
DealerConnect is the Stellantis internal system for dealers, you won't have access. When I was at Chrysler I worked on its predecessor called DIAL (Dealer Information Access Link). At that time it ran through a Hughes Satellite Link and each dealer had a small dish on the roof. That all went away when the Internet was pretty much everywhere and we dumped the satellite network. We had a massive up-link dish at one of the data centers. When last used the big dish was at Sterling Heights Assembly plant on Van Dyke in Sterling Heights MI. One of the corporate data centers is still at that plant.

When the Internet started to become popular, many dealers wanted off the satellite net but the corporate directive was to NOT use the Internet for "mission critical" applications as it was unreliable. That went out the window a few years later and the end of our connection with Hughes.
