18 City 25 HWY MPG... what a joke

Alright fellas... love my GCL, but talk about bait and switch. With around 1K miles driven since purchase i'm getting around 16mpg... mostly dallas subarban driving where there are no real traffic back ups and 45mph speed limit.

I'm feeling a little duped by jeep. While i've not taken a hwy trip yet, I cant speak to highway mpg. Has anyone hit MPG numbers for GCL as advertised? I'm extremely disappointed.
19.1 average. Pretty close mix of city/hwy.

Yea, but you're in Kansas. I'm thinking it's pretty flat there. In PA we have rolling hills (even have some pretty steep ones - I can only imagine it's much worse for our brethren in the rocky mountains). My theory is, when you go up a hill you burn 300% more fuel compared when you go down a hill (even if you're costing with the vehicle in neutral). Here the posted fuel mileage on any given vehicle will never come to fruition.

I get 20 in city/suburban driving, as much as 27 on highway.

Manufacturers say that and engine reaches its peak performance between 6-8K miles. My last car, Charger Scat Pack 6.4L w/ cylinder deactivation, improved after 6K miles. I was getting 13 in NYC, but 22 on highway trips with minimal traffic.

I have the hemi and your numbers are all near mine. I only use 89 octane, use pure synthetic oil switched at 1500 miles. Mine has a 17+ average over 1000+ miles of mostly city. We don’t care about mpg and stomp it when needed. You milking it to get less mpgs means something is wrong. Either your motor has not completed break in or you have not followed the break in procedures properly and it is still not sealed well.

I used 89 on the 6.4L also, because the jump to 92/3 octane was too much of a price jump, and I always hammered the gas pedal with no obvious differences in performance between the 2 Premium grades. The gas companies take advantage of the fact that most modern day performance cars dictate that you need to run on Premium, and supply and demand cost us 30 cents more for just 2 octane more (87 to 89), and yet going from 89 to 93 is the same 30 cents increase for 4 more octane??? Can you say "RIPOFF"?

One of the biggest reliefs that I had with moving to our GCLs in the inflated Biden economy, was going back to Regular Unleaded for the 3.6 V6 (that, and no more scrapping my scoop on every driveway and speed bump).

depending on where you live, you need to take into account the winter blend gas. Every car I own loses close to 2 miles per gallon during the winter months because winter blend gas sucks

Long ago when I worked at a gas station, we only had two storage tanks. One for 87 and one for 91. Mid-grade 89 is blended at the pump and is just a mix of the two grades.

In case I will be getting the HEMI one day, I'm probably going to use 87.

Reason for that is that I fill up my vehicles at Costco and they simply don't offer 89. It's either 87 or 93.

OK, so my first fill-up exceeding the 3K mile mark. Improved from 14.6 to 16 MPG. Since then, I put on another 100 miles and it looks promising. I'll keep you guys updated but I think there might be some truth behind this 3K mile mark...
Yeah I'm curious about the 3K mile mark. I am at ~2K miles, and noticed an improvement in fuel economy from purchase date (25 miles) to today (~2K).

Here are my current stats:
city driving: 16 MPG
highway driving: 23 MPG
combined: ~19.5 MPG

Well, the average of my last 10 fuel-ups is 17.4 MPG. I'm at 8,500 miles now so I doubt it will get any better from here.

I'm at like 15 or so city driving and 19-21 highway around 77 mph. I have the v6

Mine is the summit reserve so I'm sure the extra weight or the 275 tires don't help.
I too purchased a 2021 SR model with the V6 and have not achieved the advertised MPH on the window sticker yet. I just put approx. 1000mi of highway driving and it looks like I was at 19mph @ 70-75mph. Note: I elected to use the cruise control for most of this 2 day drive with nothing in tow. I did notice the tach hangs around 2K RPMs when cruising at highway speeds, so I'm not sure if there is any room there to improve milage. I did read from another GCL owner that he noticed a milage increase once his vehicle hit around 3000mi on the odometer. Mine is presently at 2000mi so I'm staying optimistic that the MPH will only go up from here.

The speed to give you the advertised MPG will be around 55-60 mph on flat surfaces at which the RPM will be around 1500 rpm in 8th gear.

Summit with V8 Hemi. Drove 300 mile trip last night, cruise set on 74, thru several small towns and 270 miles of it 2 lane highway in SW Kansas. Fuel mileage 19. Absolutely LOVE the V8
I get about 20 mpg on highway trips and average 15-16 in normal driving on my V8. The cylinder deactivation makes a noise similar to spark knock when it's engaged around town. Do you experience that as well?

Minor update. 3K miles in, and my MPG stats have moderately improved:
City: ~17 MPG
Highway (non-cruise): 23+ MPG
Combined: ~20 MPG
