Take a day off work and go along on the diagnostic ride. They can't deny experiencing your issues with the vehicle if you're their with them when it occurs.
I personally love the MDS. It's been working great for me. No ticking. Don't feel a thing when it drops into and out of 4-cylinder mode. Only 38k miles, so I don't know how it will affect engine life yet.
It states in the user's manual that you need to have the dealer turn them off. I tried that. They couldn't turn them off. Software issue, reported to corporate. Maybe the big update this Fall will fix it.
I got that message several times during snow storms. It shuts down the cruise control also, since it can no longer maintain distance. All I have to do it pull over and wipe the slush off the sensor. Same thing happened to the night-vision sensor.
Why do you think it's activated? Did you check in settings? You have the option to have it warn you, but not do anything. You might have to select the warn and react setting. Mine works fine, but too sensitive. I turned it off.
I ran 91 for the 1st 2600 miles (Costco, so cheaper than midgrade anywhere else). I then tried 87 to see how it affected my gas mileage. It went up, no idea why. I've run on 87 ever since. I've now got 38,000 miles on my GCL and the average gas mileage is 17.96 mpg.
There's no button. The engine automatically goes into 4-cylinder mode when conditions allow. If you're showing screen 2 in your dash, "4-cyl" will appear above your fuel economy number when it comes on. You won't really feel any change when it kicks in or off.
At 38,000 miles, I'm averaging 17.96 mpg on 87 octane fuel.
Mostly metro area driving.
The mpg reported by the vehicle is garbage, well below actual.
You need to calculate total-miles-on-vehicle / total-gallons-consumed.
Otherwise you're just guessing.
Here's a suggestion regarding the functions of the LEFT button and toggle on the backside of the steering wheel:
Change the button from rolling through the station presets to rolling through the HD stations for the current station ONLY.
Change the toggle to roll back and forth through the...
I did. The damn thing wouldn't start yesterday morning, not even 1600 miles on it.
The battery voltage showed 10.3 volts
Had to get it jumped.
Of course, the dealership can't find any problem whatsoever.
