roof cross bars

Here’s mine with the Mopar Jeep branded roof rack and the Thule carrier. We went over 2,000 miles with this on and it worked great. I got home and removed the cross bars and stowed them away until next time. Easy peasy!

The instructions said you re-apply loctite when you put them on again. Guess I should pick some up before I need to put them on again.

Sorry if this has already been covered, but are the positions of the Bars adjustable back/forth? It looks to me like there are two preset locations that the bars go to so they would fixed spacing of something like 30" and 39" (I dont recall exactly). Is this true, or can the bars be adjusted to be anywhere along the rails?

True, only 2 set positions.

There are actually 3 positions. There is one position near the front and two possible locations near the back. I originally installed them at the farthest most points but my Thule didn’t fit right so I had to move the back cross bar in to the closer setting.

3? I have one set of holes in the front and 2 sets in the back which would only allow it to be like 30" or 39"

Yakima is pricey but the way to go. I have the landing pad setup. Have one set of bars I use for bikes, etc, if needed and another set I leave attached to the roof carrier. That way I simply put the carrier on and off and when it is off the only you see on the truck is the landing pads.

@Grantschim which Thule carrier is this?
Just installed the crossbars and looking for a carrier as well. So many to choose from…

More pics and of crossbars, racks, and boxes, please! :)

(I'm looking for options for skis, and box or basket, but have a low garage, so probably need a basket - if that will even fit given how high the crossbars sit.)

@grinch72 mind taking a few pictures of the setup? I have yakima accessories from years of other vehicles but am not familiar with exactly how the landing pads work and attach.

The the cross bar simply locks into that space. They work really nice.

Just found another option. I had a set of RhinoRack Vortex cross bars from a previous vehicle. They now list on their page a set-up similar to the Yakima, but about $150 cheaper if you have to get the whole package. I already have the bars, so I only need to buy the base kit and legs. Ordering the parts now - will post an update once they arrive.
