Surprisingly no, it uses “AI” (I say that loosely) to determine. Such as abnormal driving habits, swerving, drifting, length of trip and presence of hands on the wheel. I have had it go off before on a long drive. Nothing crazy but I started to loosen my grip on the wheel and made a slight drift...
Couldn’t agree more! We shall see, but if every update takes over a year I’m not going to be happy. I’d understand major updates to bring additional features once or so a year, but incremental fixes for bugs should be much more frequent. I also no confident that added software features will come...
When you say updates are frequent, can you define frequent? I have had my GCL for over a year and have only received 1 single update. Are you on MY22? I’m on MY21 and seems like they have already abandoned updates.
There’s other threads on this. Though I have gotten one warning, I was basically on top of the car in front of me while passing it. I also have mine set to “far” and attempt to trigger a warning at the very least with nothing. I can’t even imagine what the near setting would be useful for….
Sorry to hear that! Hope it’s a quick fix!
Does your model have the forward collision warning plus braking and the intersection collision avoidance? I’m asking because if it does, did either try and engage to prevent the accident or lessen it?
I feel like those systems do not work at all in...
Honestly that’s my fear as well. I see they MY22 has the Alexa button as an option in the toolbar. MY21 does not. They are also getting updates and haven’t seen anything come across. I’ll be furious if they abandoned us given we still don’t have many of the features we purchased!
Thanks for the replies! I do know you can drag down the top bar to change out the options but for me Alexa is not an option. It’s must be exclusive to 22s
So do you have MY21 or MY22? Based on your software version I’m assuming a 2022?
Also, how do you have Alexa as a link in the top bar? Or is it not Alexa?
I have a 2021 Summit (with Alexa) and I don’t have an option to add it to the task bar at the top?
Now the maps in the cluster do seem like they could just be a software lockout. It would be nice if a 3rd party tool allowed folks to unlock it.
I wish they would also allow CarPlay in the cluster for waze, Google maps, Apple Maps, etc.
One can only hope!
It not a concern of the cluster for the night vision, you would need a completely new camera mounted, wiring, software and then the question becomes do you need a new cluster. My thought is no new cluster, but my other thought is that I doubt adding OEM night vision (if not initially optioned...
Only speed seems to show on the HUD and regular speedometer dash display. If you change the sash display to the driver assist screen (the one that shows the active lane management) it will then show those other traffic signs. Just to note, the only signs I have seen are construction zone, no...
This is incorrect. Hands Free Active Driving Assist is not SOS calls. It’s the Level 2 Autonomous Driving feature of the MY22’s. Crazy that it shows under the subscription services. Shouldn’t have to continue to pay for a feature that you purchase initially.
