I posted this elsewhere but it also fits here so I will add to this thread. A few weeks ago my 21 GCL Limited with about 15000 miles on it started acting flakey. When I approached it with its key fob it started honking as if I was pressing the keyfob buttons even though I wasn’t. It did that...
Yup that’s what I was told. Apparently there is a bit more to it than that. Such as the ominous rear hatch latch handle and motor that has been mentioned many times on this forum.
Well it’s happening again. Truck randomly attempts to lock itself several times for no reason. It happened while I was on vacation and I was concerned the battery was going to die. Brought it to a dealer who looked into it. The truck did it while the tech was looking at it. They checked...
When I had the second Durango I was retired and didn’t drive it everyday or even that far. Again that was rock solid. I really think they aren’t making batteries the same anymore.
I’m not sure what is different though with recent cars because I have had two Durangos previously going back to 2012 and both had the start/stop and neither ever had any issues with it not working as designed and neither truck ever died on me in a total of 10 years. I never had any real...
This. All brands are suffering from this. My friend’s new GMC, my neighbors new Chevy Colorado, my 21 Jeep GCL. Tow truck driver said he ties new cars that are dead all day long. The new batteries are just awful. Yet there is a plan to go electric soon??? Just how is that going to work out?
It’s to manually put the truck into neutral for towing it. When the battery is dead you won’t be able to shift into neutral because it’s all electronic. You need that knob to override it so the tow doesn’t damage your transmission
On both of my GCLs the auto start is flakey. The other issue that happens frequently is the radio /uconnect screen does flash on and off at times. When driving I can see that it flickers off then back on. It’s random, not consistent every drive where I could show the dealer what’s going on w it...
I can tell you this seems to be a common problem. I have two 2021 GCLs and both have had these feature work sporadically and then not at all. I think the secondary battery isn’t big enough. They fixed it twice in one of my GCLs and it seems to be working for now (about two months sunce it was...
I know I had an issue with a dealer installed harness on a Dodge Durango. I went to go tow a boat and found the taillights in the trailer didn’t work at all. It turned out to be that the harness hadn’t been programmed so even though everything was physically connected properly the truck wouldn’t...
The tow driver was exactly right. What he said happened, I experienced, verbatim. I have a corporate contact who intervened on my behalf and the wait magically went from 2-3 weeks to the same day he got involved. I went and got a rental and within a half hour after I got the rental the dealership...
It got towed today because after this happened the next day it was totally fine but today it was dead. Tow truck asked what was wrong. I told him what happened two days ago and that now it was dead and he replied I bet it’s your battery is dead. He tried to jump it to no avail. He said he has...
Any one have an issue when you walk near your truck (2021 GCL) with your key fob in your pocket or hand and the truck keeps beeping as it would if you just locked the door with the key fob? Mine won’t stop. It just started doing this today. It’s not the keyfob that is the issue. I changed to...
That’s actually a pretty smart idea. My GCL has definitely fallen victim of the “snow shelf” in the winter. The designer should have thought of that and moved the radar sensor. I must say I enjoy your posts Sarge. I feel your pain but enjoy your humor. The Forrest story was great! I’m glad...
I called Jeep and was told the dealer could maybe do it but would charge for it. That was after I explained what I wanted to do and also that the app doesn’t work. It does seem to work a bit more in the Overland which doesn’t show the health stuff. I found those features have to do with the...
