UConnect connection issues

I have a Samsung Note 9 and I keep getting the message below around every min when I have the phone connected via Bluetooth only or wireless Android Auto. I don't get this message when using android auto with a USB cable.
The phone is placed in the center console and not in my pocket and it is the only phone in the car.
I think I have the latest UConnect software version which is shown below (car was purchased on Oct 1st and the dealer told me they installed the latest version).

Any idea why I keep getting this annoying message? Thanks

Hi @JeepCares , do you have any ideas on this issue? Thx
Hi Hamada,
Due to Google's configuration, Android Auto features require USB connection, so it cannot be used with solely Bluetooth. Android Auto uses both Bluetooth and USB connections to function, and the system will be unavailable to other devices when using Android Auto. Every time your Android device is connected to media USB, and there is another device plugged in, you will need to manually change USB configuration for Android to send data. I hope that helps provide some clarification!

So sorry to hear that! If you'd like us to look into this for you, please DM us with your VIN and any additional details that you think would be helpful.

Thanks,

@JeepCares ,
Thx for your replay. Let me just clarify as maybe I was not clear above.
This connection message happens when the phone is connected only via Bluetooth (not using android auto at all wireless nor USB).

Hello again,

No problem! I appreciate the clarification. After you connect to Android Auto for the first time, your smartphone will automatically pair to Uconnect system via Bluetooth if phone is in range. Due to the previously mentioned configuration that Google made, Android Auto features cannot solely be used with Bluetooth, so you will need to plug your device into the system through the specific manufacturer cable in order to properly relay those Android Auto functions. This may be why you're seeing the error message only when using Bluetooth and not when connected through a USB cable.

If you have additional questions, let me know.

Thanks.
yes, I noticed when the phone is connected by the cable I don't get any connection issue messages.
To avoid having the error messages when not connected by the cable, I go into device manager on the Uconnect and turn off the "Android Auto" button, and in this case the UConnect will use the phone as a regular bluetooth connection only without trying to connect the Android Auto every few mins.

@JeepCares your response to this thread implies wireless Android auto is broken \ not supported now and Android Auto can only be used via cable? Is this really true? Is there an ETA on a fix? Wireless Android Auto is a specific window sticker capability, I hope Jeep hasn't given up on it after mere months.
1 week in with my new GCL Overland and I definitely see intermittent loss of AA connection, then loops through attempts to reconnect and giving another and another failure message.

If I use the cable it will work fine, but then JEEP cannot advertise it as WIRELESS AA.

I have no idea what the responses above are about. I use wireless Android Auto regularly just fine on my Overland.
Any connection issues? If you don't mind me asking, what phone do you use?
I have a Pixel6, being all google you'd think it would be a good bet for Android auto compatibility! Move works probably 60% of the time. The other 40, it won't connect and I keep getting annoying connection failed alerts on uconnect.

Pixel 6 regular with a Spigen "liquid air" avg thickness case (TPU i think). Have I had connection drops? yes, but very brief, self correcting, and rare. I also have the 10" - not sure if there could be a diff or less obstructed internal BT radio.

To be more specific... this statement above by Jeep Cares is contradictory to my experience and described Uconnect specifications: "Android Auto features cannot solely be used with Bluetooth, so you will need to plug your device into the system through the specific manufacturer cable in order to properly relay those Android Auto functions."

I'm on the 10" uconnect and have a similar thin case.
Maybe I have some conflicting software on the phone, maybe Bluetooth contention with smart watch.
