Up in flames :(

So this happened near me this morning :( I hope they're dealer stock, but there may be some very sad Jeep order holders in NJ this morning... I don't want to propose anything negative, but I don't really know how that could have happened.

fuel leak...same way these Demons melted

Well that would be fairly discouraging, but even if it was a fuel leak, what would be the ignition source? I was thinking one of them might be a 4xe, but they look like regular limited's and maybe a summit on the bottom.

Yeah, I could see it as a problem for a running "hot" vehicle, but a vehicle sitting on a truck that hadn't been running for at least a few hours... Gasoline is not supposed to be a "good" conductor, so even if it was leaking directly onto the battery it shouldn't cause a fire, at least imho...

Just a thought but when they are brand new, aren't they usually shipped from the factory with an almost empty gas tank?

Hard to tell, but doesn't look like any were 4xe's? (eg lithium batteries, even if not the cause, are a PITA re fires)
I specifically didn't want to jump to that conclusion even though I was thinking it, but I did actually ask the fire department involved and they said that the cause of the fire was still under investigation but there were no hybrid's involved.
