You laugh, Jake, but if you're trying to run within 1 PSI of triggering the TPMS warning and you live in a place like I do, the temps can vary 40F+ over the course of a 24 hr period, and can vary from -20F (used to get colder) in the winter to 100F in the summer, the nitrogen fill can prevent you from having to adjust tire pressures on a daily or weekly basis to keep the idiot alarms at bay. (Record high in Wyoming is 116F/46C, record cold is -66F/-54C). On a given summer day, it can be in the 40's at night and 90's in the day. That's a 50F/30C swing. Tires lose 1-2 PSI per 10F/6C with regular air, but not with Nitrogen. And then there's the additional heat tires create inside as they get warmed up. So, again, nitrogen (a PITA I've never bothered with, honestly) could be useful for certain situations.
