GCL Overland ORG Tire Pressure

Does anybody on here have the Overland with the Off Road Group from the factory? I'm curious as to what your door sticker says for your recommended tire pressure. My SR is 39 Front 42 Rear, want to know if I need to alter that if I get 18" off road tires... I would guess it's the same but who knows.

You laugh, Jake, but if you're trying to run within 1 PSI of triggering the TPMS warning and you live in a place like I do, the temps can vary 40F+ over the course of a 24 hr period, and can vary from -20F (used to get colder) in the winter to 100F in the summer, the nitrogen fill can prevent you from having to adjust tire pressures on a daily or weekly basis to keep the idiot alarms at bay. (Record high in Wyoming is 116F/46C, record cold is -66F/-54C). On a given summer day, it can be in the 40's at night and 90's in the day. That's a 50F/30C swing. Tires lose 1-2 PSI per 10F/6C with regular air, but not with Nitrogen. And then there's the additional heat tires create inside as they get warmed up. So, again, nitrogen (a PITA I've never bothered with, honestly) could be useful for certain situations.

An annoyance I've disabled 😏
My Jeep lives in a garage heated to 15C 🔥
Nitrogen's a dealer scam 💩
@Sarge I don't require Wyoming weather reports 😖

Disabling it doesn’t change the variance. It’s science. The weather is just a case in point.

Why don’t you be a seeetheart and tell us all what our local techs need to know to disable all these nanny alerts?

Thanks, but our cops all drive Tahoes. I don’t think the Chevy techs will be much help. Maybe there’s a law enforcement tech section the Jeep techs have access to, but I’ve never even seen a Jeep cop car anywhere in the US.

Maybe the Dodge techs next door would have some ideas…

On that Tangent... I was reading another forum somewhere and they were talking about an OBD app called JScan, which is specifically for Jeep / Dodge / Chrysler and allows you to set * a lot * of options including TPMS ranges. It doesn't support WL's yet, but I contacted them yesterday to see if they're working on it, I hope so... I think it might disable the freaking 3 beeps when your engine is running too...

Your SR really says 39psi front and 42 psi rear? I thought they all had 36f/36r?

Anyways I run our Overland with 265/60r18 at 36psi in the winter with our winter tires. I put almost zero thought into it since our winter tires have the same load rating and speed rating as our OEM stock setup.

Between all the different law enforcement agencies we have here, I'd say about 1/3 are Dodge, half are Chevy, the rest (town cops) have Fords.

I'm not sure what models/years of Dodge might have crossover to the WL, though, as my dealer couldn't even see 1/4 of the error codes mine was throwing when I got it until Jeep sent them a new scan tool for the WL. I don't think I've ever seen a single Jeep, since the 80's, in law enforcement or government use of any kind, anywhere in the US (might be, but I've never seen one).

Yup, 39/42, and the tpms complains on the rears at 36... So, your Overland L's sticker says 36/36? That's good to know.
